[AAR] Ode to Project Reality
My experience today was amazing. APCs blowing up my entire squad in one fell swoop, missiles being rained down on us by US Helis, snipers firing at us and having to juggle the medipack to everyone dying in my squad, and forklifts that sound like tanks and scaring all of us, only to end the round with a win.
Almost all of those events mentioned were bad, but..wow.
Project Reality is the most realistic (not to mention addictive) FPS I have ever played. No game has come this close to reality...than project reality. Huge maps, amazing selection of weapons and skins, and 2 hours spent on one mission just blows me away.
I havent felt an immersion so deep. And the best part: it didnt need ultra-realistic graphics to suck me into such an amazing world.
I salute you Project Reality Devs, you have changed gaming forever. I just wish my friends had BF2 so they could play.

Re: Ode to Project Reality
It is hard to explain to somebody project reality,,
When i say i got a kill they would think
so what just 1 kill, but to yourself as a Project Reality player, feels like an accomplishment, whereas other games.... a kill it just a kill.
Its something nobody would know until they play.

This mod is cool. Even if I don't do well in a round, I still get excited about individual kills, especially if its within close range. Though I have 1 dislike, there really aren't that many different weapons. On most maps one faction just uses slight modifications of the same gun for each class, with the exception of some of the limited ones. Atleast in vanilla, each class had its own weapon. Then with the weapon unlocking ability, it gave different ways to play each class. I do like PR better than vanilla because it adds so much depth, but there are several features from vanilla I miss.

Glad you've had a good experience, PR is the most teamwork based game I've played, and by far the most teamwork in any FPS.

Squad leading is fun, but its always nerve racking to decide whats best for your squad and the situation at hand. My first experience was positive however. Plus, I don't have a mic..[R-DEV]fuzzhead wrote:Cheers sandvich, glad you enjoy the gameplay, be sure to try squad leading (if you havnt already) it definitely adds another level of awesomeness
PS: Did the MODDB MOTY voting end? It seemed to, but PR says the second phase is still on.

If the Project Reality developers switched with DICE and made BF2 back then, it would never need to be moded.
Yes PR is very addicting.

That's the point though, the same happens IRL. Each army has their main service weapon and then there's the specialised ones. It's better that way, so we don't get 50 snipers running around and not contributingMadcapper2 wrote:Though I have 1 dislike, there really aren't that many different weapons. You should try playing as Taliban, Insurgents or Rebels, they have wide varieties of weapons
