CTD on map load and freezes when player joins

The game crashes to desktop when I load the map ramiel and on any map that a friend joins the game just freezes without any errors.

have you ran the game in windowed mode?

and what program are you using for playing with your friends.

Okay, right click on your shortcut, it should look similar to this:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr_sp_08 +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

What you need to do is add the following:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr_sp_08 +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1024 +szy 768

Then try and load Ramiel again, and take a screenshot of what the error message is.

It crashes at the very end of loading at verifying client data. Like I said it produces no error message at all, just CTD (I've run it in windowed mode).

I am also using hamachi with friends but have also been on an Ad Hoc network with them and have still had the freezing problem.
