Really it isn't that safe to take out a AAV with a jet, thou can be done pretty easily with a 1km view distance thou isn't that realistic... But your pilot just sounded like he just wasn't a team player

The scenario was, We (the U.S. Team) had just taken the South Bunker, and my squad (Infantry squad/6th squad) was assigned to capture the North Bunker. We ran into a full squad, but with the element of suprise, we quickly took them out with minor injuries. We had secured the north bunker area, capped it, and lived. I proceeded to call for Air transport out of the North Bunker as another infantry squad moved up from the South bunker to defend the North Bunker. As our air transport was landing, an enemy mobile AA piece shot it and blew it up. We figured out where is was, and asked for air support (via A-10). My exact words were,"Uhh..Can Squad 6 get some air support? we have a mobile AA vehicle...uhh...West of our position. Thanks." I then lazed the AA vehicle. No air-support. I asked again,"A-10, there is an enemy AA vehicle West of the North bunker Complex, at 280. Please Acknowledge." I re-lazed the AA; no air support. Then, an APC joined up with the AA vehicle. Now we have an AA vehicle and an APC shooting at my squad. We're trapped in the North bunker Area. Even worse, the Squad coming from the South bunker to help us was gunned down by the AA piece. Now I'm asking the A-10 (which is still up in the air, taking random pot-shots at infantry.) to take out the threat for a third time. no air support. To my--and my squad's suprise-- two enemy Main Battle Tanks had just joined in and were now firing at us.
So let's take a look at this: I am now dealing with One AA vehicle, One APC, and Two MBT's. My squad has nothing at our disposal, we used our HAT earlier, and we have no supply crates around us. It's all just 1 officer, 2 riflemen, 1 medic, 1 HAT (with no ammo), and 1 Automatic Rifleman. We are defenseless. We are taking a repeated pounding from the enemy. None of us are dying, but we are trapped inside the bunker now. Meanwhile, what is our air support doing? Flying circle around the Main Base. I'm starting to get a little bit frustrated now. I start spamming the text area about how we need air support. No air support. Then, about five minutes later; guess what happens? We get our support! But it's not what you'd expect. Our air support happened to be an A-10 hurdling to the ground, straight at the enemy armor! No guns firing, no bombs dropping; the pilot is on a suicide mission. He's flying straight at them and then.............he flies right over the armor. He misses his target!
There was a momentary cease-fire, as the armor crews took in what just happened. They realized the A-10 just tried to fly into them; shouted a few nasty words, then resumed firing at us. Eventually the tanks made their way into the Bunker Compound and destroyed my squad. We spawned in, this time we got two HAT guy's (one wasn't in our squad though), and flew off to the North bunker. Re-captured it, destroyed the tanks (in the time it took us to get back to the North bunker, the AA and APC was taken out by something.) Then five to ten minutes later, the round ended in favor of the U.S. Army. (199-0)
lol, a F-35b would be FAR too fast for muttrah, was considering a Harrier on muttrah when it was in development but even that was too fast, and that's like 1/2 the speed of a F-35b (dont quote me on that, thou I know a JSF is much fasterTF6049 wrote:Rhino...seeing your avatar makes me want that jet on Muttrah...there is NO ESCAPE!![]()

my guess he didn't know how to land and went kamikazee...No guns firing, no bombs dropping;
It is pretty frustrating when people lase targets without grid coordinates. Personally, I sometimes won't provide CAS without a proper grid coordinate even with a lased target unless I'm flying Blufor aircraft. BluFor aircraft is a lot easier to provide CAS since their bombs activate a lot sooner than the OpFor aircraft. It really depends on the pilot. Some are teamplayers, some are just retarded.Alex6714 wrote:It works both ways really, its incredibly frustrating to get a CAs jet p, evade enemy jets only to hear complete silence, "takes out this aa now noob" or "lasing target now" with no location.
But for a "groundie" to fully understand how the pilot works and will make his decision they need to fly. Its not good enough to say AAV somewhere over there, I sure won´t go and look for it.
