Do you mean vBF2 or PR? I've heard some people who claim to be pilots say PR's heli physics is actually very good compared to most games but dunno if they are really pilots for sure, but then the same goes for you too :p

If you are then you could work with someone like Jafar to try and get them better :)

But then again, BF2 was never designed to be a flight sim engine so there isn't too much we can do with it :p

Well, that is the beauty of the internet, no-one ever truly knows who someone is! This is a short (possibly not very interesting) video of what I do for a living. Of course, you'll just have to take my word for it that it's me flying in the first place! There are a couple of other vids on my channel there that I hope will lend some credibility to the claim as well.

I don't remember what vanilla BF2 is like, I didn't realise they'd made any changes actually. Whatever flight model is in 0.981 that I played around with last night is the one I remembered, and is the one I dislike with a passion  If you've flown ArmaII or BF3 helicopters, you might appreciate some of the differences.

There are three specific characteristics I can think of now for example:

1. The way the helicopter increases/decreases speed in the game so rapidly with small attitude changes. Going from the hover to forward flight feels very un-natural, and you hardly have to make any power changes.

2. And this is a really frustrating issue, if you decrease power/collective pitch to zero, the in game helicopter becomes completely unresponsive in pitch and roll. What is up with that??!!!

3. Because the in game helicopters picks up speed so quickly, you can't pitch downwards very far at all before you find yourself in an unrecoverable dive.

Although i'm not a helicopter pilot i agree with you on your points. The first time i tried flying in this game i tried to pitch back to slow down and i just flew backwards incredibly fast and slammed into the ground. I was so used to games like Arma/take on helicopters and FSX that it took me a long while to adjust to this style of flying.

I think like any control system you learn to use it effectively eventually, it's just a shame it doesn't feel or look much like flying a helicopter.

I would be curious to know what changes if any can be made to the flight model.
