No, it's absolutely not! The BF2 files are needed for BF2 and PR to run.

If you have the full installer, you can delete the Battlefield 2\mods\pr folder if it's there, but not the whole mods folder.

I downloaded the patch. Strangely, the filename for it is 'pr_0613_patcher.1.2D0D17' .
It doesn't have the '.exe' extension. I clicked on it anyway but it doesn't work - nothing happens except a momentary hourglass. The icon looks like a page w/. a big letter 'A' on it. The recommended program to open it is shown as 'HIPS Email Attachment Helper' (which is also strange) and it doesn't work either. I used Mozilla Firefox to download it. What did I do wrong? More, importantly what can I do to either make it work or download a working copy with the appropriate extension?

Try downloading from somewhere else.

Filename should be pr_0613_patcher.exe
