read the thread, trust me, the doors DO close, and the arrowkeys might have caused the famous merlin-lag, so they are a no go on choppers

'Andy[EEF wrote:;1273684']While the Mi-8 usually does have rockets, bombs and stuff in reality.. I don't think it would be a "transport" helicopter anymore, more like a rambo BF2 pilot's wet dream. If it were to have such a version I bet they'd make it like the CAS huey, with no seats in the back and make its only function an "attack" helicopter.
Yeah, but the problem with the CAS huey in this game is that it doesn't have door guns, like the one's in real life do. Perhaps a .50 out the left, and a GAU-17 out the right?
(GAU-17, the Marines designation of the M134)

Some have rockets and the door guns which would make the UH-1Y Venom a real attack helo but slightly less menacing than the Cobra.
I could see the Hip and the Huey in a more attack helo role on certain versions of certain maps without a normal attack helo.

yep,i like that idea!!!In 1st chechen war Russian Armed Forces use thats chopper, becouse mostly helicopter air bases no have sponsorship by state(bad economy situation ~1987-1993 years(we name thats - perestroika))
I think thats chopper(Attack version) good seen on antiterror maps and on beirut(optionaly in some GMs)

I'm anticipating the vanilla Mi-17 being replaced, it's possibly the worst vanilla model left.
I hope it also replaces the vanilla Zhi-8, which is relatively uncommon IRL.
Only a small number (15~20) have been built.
Zhi-8 Transport / SAR Helicopter
Where as:
Over 250 examples of the Russian Mi-17/171 (NATO reporting name: Hip-H) multirole helicopter are currently operational with the PLA.

Zhi-8s are as uncommon as Black Hawks in the PLA...
The PLA Army Aviation Corps operates around 20 Sikorsky S-70C transport helicopters, which are known as the UH-60 Black Hawk in the U.S. Army.

Are there seats that you sit on or is it like the old Merlin chopper were u open the doors and float around inside?

The Merlin had seats, floating around inside was just an option.
