whats the big deal?? And I didn't know you meant PNG "Files" you just said "stop with the PNG's." I am a photographer and work with all sorts of files. PNG doesn't make that big of a difference. And it doesn't hurt anything posting them.

It's against the rules to post PNGs. They are usually too heavy. So just stop it.

For the kind of screens we share here, the quality difference is not a big deal. Just use JPG.

jpeg quality can be varyed, if you use mspaint it will wreck the quality somewhat but most good utilities, free ones even will let you set compression to 5% and it'll save everyones bandwidth easily

The reason PNG are not allowed is mainly due to the fact that some people are on limited monthly bandwidth, or simply just have slower internet. When you upload a post with 10 PNG images that are sometimes 8x as large as a slightly lower quality JPG that gets the same image across, it can really be quite annoying.

If you ever get the point where another user asks you for the PNG version[to edit it or to simply have as a wallpaper, upload it for them and then shoot them a PM.

But as far as using JPG's over PNG's its just a small courtesy that not only hlps out certain users, but also just helps EVERYONE not have to deal with long loads for some screenshots..

Asking, but the Xfire PICS are in PNG or JPEG?

Apparently PNG, because all I posted were taken with xfire. :/

You might be able to go into Xfire options and set it. I know bf2 itself takes them in both formats simultaneously.

The full size pic is .png, the resized one is .jpg
