One question I have is in maps like Normandy, will there be several ships to spawn on or will it be one big ship with lots of boats?

For now it's just a floating dock in the middle of the sea with landing ships ready to go. We tried it with real ships but it wasn't working that good.

What about the landing craft. Will there be amphibious tanks, and such?

Also, about the boats, is a dropping ramp possible?

Yes be sure of that. It was a nice concept and now we have better ideas for it, and better maps...

Are you trying to finish this mod for this summer?
So when the holidays start we can play a lot :)
Or is it unrealistic and we should except this like end of the year or so?

Good try :D But PR doesn't give estimated release dates as you might know. As this is a free project with no real deadlines, it's not possible to give you one. And even if we did know an estimated window, we wouldn't tell :D It will be released when it's done and tested :)

Wait a minute. when mineral posted above he had 2,741 posts which adds to 14 like 2014. His reply had 3 smiley faces, three sides is a triangle, 180 degrees in a triangle. Put those number together and you get 31-80-14 which is close enough to August 31st 2014.

Some where there was a post about somebody working on WW2 Pacific campaign maps, but it must be incredibly WIP as the American faction was "beta like" in .98, there is no Japanese faction, and mapping is a slow and careful process especially when you are trying to be historically accurate.

Actually I meant to hide an Illuminati joke in there.

We have decided to suspend development of the Pacific theater since a few months ago. We were hoping to get more help on that front or even cooperation from other mods but unfortunately nothing came out of it.

There was a WIP map of Iwo Jima with a lovely Mount Suribachi with tunnels inside that we had to throw away. I spent a lot of my time on that map doing the terrain by hand and despite the horrible feeling throughout it was shaping to something nice. Mineral also spent a good amount of time modelling that mount.

Some WIP pics from our forum of the beach area (all editor screens with missing retextures):

Unfortunately I can't find screens of the last version of Mount Suribachi from the outside, but there are a few WIP screens back in the initial days as well as showing how long and complex the tunnels were.

There were 3 different ways to get in, including in the nucleus of the Mount. 3 MG bunkers, 2 overlooking the beach and one covering the back entrance. And 2 Field Cannon bunkers overlooking the beach. And I have to say that the couple of times I tested the tunnels in-game with Mineral, I got lost easily. And you could even climb the Mount through certain paths. It was a lot of fun.

It's also worth mentioning the Box Bunker and Flamethrower made by lucky.boy specifically for this theater (and I believe screens of it have been posted by himself in this forum). Obviously we will find a way to get those in for other maps.

There are more things worth showing (or mentioning) but I don't want to turn this into a wall of text.

Sorry if we disappointed some of you, but another reason is that we either had to work bits on every theater or only focus in a single one for the time being. Normandy being the most logical choice. And even then our progress have been hampered by a lot of setbacks the past three months. With the exams out of the way very soon we will be back into it. Please be patient.
