Its so weird how they still use a weapon that looks so much the WW2 machinegun. you'd think they want to cut away all bonds they might have with that period. But they also still use the black and white crosses so It makes sense they'd use a machine-gun that looks like the WW2 weapon :P

/not saying any political stuff here to my oppinion. I cant wait to use this ingame and it looks amazing and terefic

Or because it is a WW2 weapon, but modernized. Guns cost a bit too much to be just thrown away and redesigned every few years like fashion trends in clothing. The M2 Browning HMG is a WW1-era weapon, but no one notices that.

Well, maybe they use it just because it's such an effective weapon? Mixing politics with weapon-design would just be stupid. If it works, you should stick with it rather than waste money and resources on developing completely new weapons. Its past as "Hitler's buggsaw" is just a proof of its effectiveness.

Oh, and the Iron Cross you are talking about is much older than nazism. It is the old symbol of the German (earlier Prussian) military.

The black cross your describing actually predates the nazi's, it been the symbol of the German army since 1800, and is a very important piece of there history.

And the simple fact is most of German’s history is tainted by the nazi's, Do you know the humble beetle was actually panted by the nazi's for example?, if Germany was to cut all ties to there history that's contaminated by the nazi's, they would having nothing left, and there culture would be destroyed.

When I was in high school in year 9 we had a very large majority of exchange students coming to are school most come from American and we had a couple from German, one day me and me friend where walking to the oval when we heard all this yelling, turns out one of the American student was compliantly going mental at one of the German lads screaming at him saying how he should be ashamed at what he’s people did, who was standing there just taking it saying absolutely nothing which was even worse,

We had to then grabbed the yank kid and pull him away, where my friends pretty bluntly shut him up . with in a week both the very nice German exchange student’s (WE LIKED) left,

I don’t get way people constantly what to barite and remind the German’s on some thing that happened before any of us was even born. Get over it.

And the MG42, is still to this day one of the best general peropus machine guns ever made. So why change some thing that works.

ignoring the other stuff of the period, german technology of that period was damned impressive.

Your comment about severing ties with that period is a bit silly, it would be like saying the Americans should redesign their helmens because they have similtarities to teh shape of German WW2 helmets

H2 is a WW2 weapon as well, think about ;-) - and we did at least change one major thing, the caliber, even though i still think the mauser round was superior

I still think the MG-3 would be fairly cumbersome to carry around and shoot when not prone. It is around 11 kilograms while the HK21 is around 8kg. I know the gun is beautiful, but is it really practical?

iirc that actually was planned from beginning of optics on MGs, reason why its not on all of them(excepts ins/militia) now is lack of models

In this configuration the KORD weighs ‘only’ 31kg, thus allowing it to be carried on the battlefield by a single soldier, although obviously for short distances only.
Think I'll stick with my AG3, thank you!

Anyway, for those who want some clips of the MG3, here you go:

The MG3 being used by lads in PBN (the Armoured Batallion):

Nope, the Border Guards are set up with AG3s only. We're a light infantry ("jeger" in Norwegian, translates something like "ranger" or "recon" in English, or "jäger" for you Germans) unit, not equipped with that sort of heavy weaponry. Only fired some blanks through one many years ago.

Those vids were mostly for fun and to show off the MG3s firepower and recoil. I don't doubt you in the least - look at how much trouble those guys have trying to keep it on target!
