I am speechless, astonishing work !!!
The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting.

Great Work Devs! Its gonna be an epic release. By all that great stuff you put in that beast of 0.9 i am asking myself: how big will be the downloadfile? Must be about some 3 or 4 GB? Or even more... Doesnt matter, and if it would be 1 TB I would buy a knew hard drive ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

One thing tho,
Isnt this going to make the squadleader job overly complicated and difficult?
I mean, i have to stick my head out of cover to place the marker, do the range check and then get the lazer spot, or the spotted enemy relay'd to my team.
Also with all the features this brings, are they easy to find or will it get alot harder? caus i dont want to expose to enemy fire for to long just to get those spots out.

No you dont have to expose yourself. You set an observer marker on the enemy either by using the map or by looking at them. Then you duck for cover and look at the marker. Set your contact distance and the marker will appear where you set the distance.KingLorre wrote:One thing tho,

Someone asked "why must we set the distances?"
Because of the BF2 engine, this markers are not like the observe/attack ones. Let say you set a distance of 100m, you now have to look in the direction where you want the marker to be placed, lets say NW.
So the marker will spawn 100m NW of you, or in other words 100 m in whichever direction you are looking.
Hope I made everything clear.

I think that after a while it'll be very fast procedureKingLorre wrote:One thing tho,

also, I guess you'll be able to just ask the commander to put a marker down if its too dangerous for you to look.

Looks great.

Re: [Weapon] Squad Leader Radio and Comms
Is the commander still able to place his markers every 60 sec, so that SLs still can talk to him via VoIP, saying sth. like "hostile tank on my attackmarker, mark it for the rest of the team"?
This would be helpful when having to retreat and in other situations, where you cannot set the marker by yourself due to enemy activities.

Re: [Weapon] Squad Leader Radio and Comms
I have a concern, if the radio is issued with an officer kit, if someone picks up an officer kit off a dead body will they be given the same commo rose as their squad leader? Which would mean they can call in supports as well?
Otherwise this will definitely be useful and providing overall teamwork. And with all the lil other features we will definitely see an improvement and along side the new faluhjah improvment, with the us base being down to the south-west, will any other maps see such improvements, or better base defenses? such as korengal valley, and operation archer?

Good point Rudd, but considering pubbing doesnt usualy have commanders anymore, this would sometimes not be an option. Im going to have to test quite well when it comes out tho.

You're right, it will be quite lengthy, but the main problem I have is if the target is moving, its going to be a bit hard to constantly update it.KingLorre wrote:Good point Rudd, but considering pubbing doesnt usualy have commanders anymore, this would sometimes not be an option. Re: [Weapon] Squad Leader Radio and Comms
Iam not sure if someone already asked that question:
What is about the ins? If someone grap a koalition-officer kit, they can also send markers to the other ins which have no radio or what?

think how the commander feels, he has the same problem but with 60 second inbetween the placing of the second markerdtacs wrote:You're right, it will be quite lengthy, but the main problem I have is if the target is moving, its going to be a bit hard to constantly update it.

Re: [Weapon] Squad Leader Radio and Comms
With the commander thing it's gonna become even more imperative almost, because your gonna need someone to manage all the bloody things if people spot them wrongly etc. Plus you still need him for co-ordination and calls ins and UAV recon, plus they've probably thought of some new stuff by now too...Gosu-Rizzle wrote:Only slight problem i forsee is that commanders will be even more useless.. (Since you dont need him to set markers) Hope you can give him more toys/abilities to make up for it...
One thing though is how accurate you'll have to be with your spotting, it's easy enough to line the markers up with the centre of your screen, but will being out by a couple of degrees not make for a pretty large inaccuracy if your spotting over long distance? Or would it have to be a really long distance/spotting off your marker by quite a few degrees to make any sort of noticeable degree? I'd do the trigonometry if I could be bothered looking up the theory again, cos it's been a while since Secondary school and can't quite remember which area equals which, shorter sides squared added together make the squared of the bigger on right? Either way it'd be easier if it's just not anything to worry about

Oh and that'd require ALOT of work, since all the US voice overs are from vanilla, so you'd have to redo all the voices or find someone that can do a pretty decent impersonation that can record in a very similar environment so it sounds remotely similar.Oddsodz wrote:I Have not read every post in this. But for the love of Pants. please change the "Marking with Lazar, Now" voice over to say "Target is Lazar locked" or something like that. I Still amazes me how so many players just make the sound "Marking with Lazar, Now". But "Don't" really laze at all. They think the COMORose is lazing for them.
