There's a new game mode in 1.3 - Objective. However we're not going to be advertising it much since it's very WIP, completely untested, and only supports 1 map - Silent Eagle.
We'll be working with server admins after we release 1.3 to get it run in special events and the like, so we can figure out what needs to be done on it going forwards. We're hoping by the time 1.4 comes around it'll be a proper game mode, support some more maps, etc.

Can we hype for that new gamemode? What kind of objectives would this have for instance? Are you going to answer these questions or not because it's WIP? Will it be awesome? Would you expect people to actually play this gamemode contrary to how undeplayed CNC is?

It's a testing platform really in v1.3. Public servers can obviously play it but it won't be promoted or even in the manual until it's finalized in v1.4 I suppose.

Is "jack-in-the-box" effect rare for T-62? This is the first time ever I see that happen for any asset in PR. The turret literally got blown off from the chassis and landed next to the wreck.
I tried like 5-6 times, I couldn't reproduce it

I've seen that happen once to a M1 Abrams in COOP, have never seen it in mulitplayer

Hello everyone.
I just wanted to ask a question about v1.3.0. Is it coming before July? I don't want to sound like an impantient kid, but I just want to know because it will be fun wasting some time on this in summer.

I've seen an M1A1 abrams do it on a local server before, it pops with the vBF2 M1A2 turret.

As I have BF2 and PR on my SSD, I wouldn't mind shaving off a couple GBs of space, but of course I must ask, will I have to use download the 1.3 version via a torrent, or will a mirror version be available?

Are the Germans going to get some of the Dutch vehicles like the Fennek and Boxer? If so will there be a fennek or 2 on Laskar? (Would be a great improvement over the driving boxes of a puma they have there now)

Germans should see the dutch vehicles and possibly the fuchs added to them on v1.4. No guarantees though.

Would the vehicles also have different weapons? I can remember that the Germans used 40mm grenade launchers instead of .50 cal machine guns on some of their Fenneks. Also will the annoying hatch on the Boxer be removed (if that is possible)?

How will 1.3 affect people who use the editor? Will the editor be included in the download? Will I be able to use my old pr_edit folder? Will you remove alot of vbf2 statics so I will have to find missing ones ingame then add them as custom objects etc?

Modders will still require BF2 as the editor uses it. We won't pack any editor tools with the client download as they don't need it.
pr_edit and all other elements will work just the same
. We cleaned up unused PR elements mostly, not BF2 elements. And nothing static wise was changed. Since v1.0 all statics of BF2 were already included. (except for the expansions maybe, not sure. But either way it didn't change with v1.3)

nope, we delayed it until 1.4 as it is far from being optimized.
