It's okay for me, just get us something out (Normandy is awesome)
I'd love to see pacific campaign (those tunnels
) but it's a lot of work (map, assets, factions,...)
Finish the normandy for now, we'll see later
Also, I was helping with testing for the PR-N some time ago, and the 9th July I'm going to be available to help you testing thing (I tried to get into modelling, texturng, mapping to help but I don't understand a thing, maybe I'll retry)
I was in contact with pvtL'heureux (It was before the pr 1.0 release I think)

Not from this team.
Besides some older bolt action rifles and maybe a maxim machine gun there really aren't too many common weapons between eras that we have. Also the vehicles, maps, and player models to consider as well.

Well I always thought it could be cool to make a map just for an event with K98 vs Lee Enfield in trenches and a lot of arty and stuff like that. Having predifined COs and SLs to make massive charges at the same time, just for fun

There could be an early wartime map like that right? Give everyone bolt actions but the SL's would get a Sten/MP40?

You mean early in WW1? Because they didn't have smgs until 1917.
If you mean early WW2 (1940), there wouldn't be much of a difference to late war, both German and British had 1 lmg per squad, which provided most of the fire. The Germans had some smgs (not as many as later), but British squad leader would just carry revolvers.

Well, I meant early WW2. I figured that early in the war both sides would have been less likely to have as much advanced weaponry as they did by the end of the war.

While that is true, that only goes for stuff like automatic rifles / assault rifles, as well as manpack at and stuff like that.
I mean the Germans used a rifle throughout the war the basic design of which went back the 1898. THen again, the M16 was designed in the 60s I guess....

You're correct. The MP40 was -as the name suggested- put into service in 1940. Though the MP38 was being around, SMGs were rare among German soldiers, and it amounted to only SQLs and personnel above it carrying one(generally speaking). Even with an increased production for it later on, and the appearance of the StG44, you could very well assume from the start until the end of the war that, in places other than the Eastern Front, only the SQL of a Germany Infantry Squad(12 men)would be blessed with an MP40, the rest would carry the Kar98k, with the exception of the Machine Gunner.
The Sten gun was not produced until 1941, so it would not be realistic for it to make an appearance during the fall of France.

Will the squads be named after US 1941 phonetic alphabet (Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Easy etc.) by default? instead of the NATO one.

Also for like different squad names for different factions? Or just for the entire mod?

It's the entire mod, in which case it's not interesting for PR.
There's an easy workaround; name your own squad
.

I only played the US Army in the latest version, but since I do not recall seeing the German Squad names being Albert, Bruno, Caesar etc. in the previous ones, I doubt they did it or that it's doable.

So it isn't possible

It is not possible.
