This model is supposed to be the SISU XA-203, which is an up armored version of the XA-186. The 203 does not have any propellers as it does not float. Anyways, you have taken my model to new, extreme heights, it's beautiful!! I'll send you some references of the 203 if you still need it.

@Glimmerman, I have an somewhat finished XA-188, I have completely forgotten to send it to you guys!

Hi Winston,

Can you send it over, same goes for the CV9035NL, so we can have it completed?

Cheers,

the thread title says "SISU XA-186", and it don't seems "up armored" to me
I'm have no knowledge about that so I need you guys to tell me exactly what are the differences.

as far as read in those threads

Norg SISU 186 (woodland) Lighter with Propeller
Norg SISU 203 (desert) Up armored, no propeller
Ducth SISU 188 - Lighter, no propeller, open .50

Anyway I would like some definitions, and as usual references of whatever need to be changed.

About the CV9035, I could finish it as well, but for now I'm overloaded and with too much unfinished things to go on, maybe later.

For the Dutch one its easy, loose the .50 cupola and propellers, put on a open turret with a .50 and your done.

Perhaps add some bags to the sides

There are other minor differences between the 186 and 188, like the hinge to the hatches above the driver, ETC. The model I sent yous should have most of the differences changed.

To my understanding when I made this model, it was supposed to be the XA-203, as our military advisor said so :) It is used both with desert and tempered camo. The up-armored part is easy to see when you look at the shutters on the windows and some other parts of the vehicle.

The thread title I couldn't change after I first started the thread, but it was supposed to say XA-203 ;)

If Salmonella has not the time to export this, I'd be glad to do it.

but anyway theres no noticeable changes to the average PR player, I really think is better to use the same model, same armor and with propeller, only with different cupola, its much easier and gives little or no gameplay/reality issues.

for sure, I'll really appreciate this, you seems to have learnt export very well, as soon as I get the models and uv 100% done I'll send to you.

update.
re built the inteiror from some fresh references Glimmerman sent me, don't know if its true for both factions, but the references are too good to be ignored.
not that FastWiston interior ewas bad, but the polys was spent mainly on the driver seat which isn't shown in game, so I rearranged the tris to give detail only where the passengers can see. The tris count inst high compared to 4200 in LAV3, so I think it has enough detail for the budget.

I've made the uvs, but not started the textures itself, these are just some baked ligths, which I still must to practice a little, to get it smoother and realistic

It looks great, but I do not believe it is how the norwegian SISU looks like, I will try to find some good refs for you

but i know that the basic layout of the one Fastwinston made is how it is supposed to be.

but i believe the Dutch will be extremely happy for this interior, I mean just look at it

Wow Salmonella, again awesome work :)

Isnt it a possibillity to leave away the propellers and model them seperatly and attach them by code for the model that does require them?

All I know is that we really need the XA-186s Amphibius abilities for our Norwegian Maps

Yeah , the Norwegian team needs 2 versions right? one without and one with props?

The make the propellers child objects to be added by code to the vehicle and you only need one base model.

Salmonella, no need to texture the interior, looks already fine with the lights.

Be sure to separate well the inside and the outside, and then all should be fine for the export.

You're doing an awesome work Salmonella.

For the propellers, indeed they can be exported separately and then added via code like a machinegun.

That would probably be the best IF you are using the same basemodel for all of them. Otherwise people would start whining about why there are propellers and it can't swim, or the other way around ;)

will the lights on the inside work in BF2?
also that looks awesome
There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.

It's just baked lights not real lights like on the choppers/planes. ;)
I think he will use them as a layer during texturing. I don't know much about this.

Anyway for the propellers, I can export two different versions, one with propellers, the other not, fortunately I learnt the use of the option "prefix sub-parts during export"...so not a huge task to rename the parts between dutch and norwegian...those who know a bit about export understand what I mean.

There will be two different meshes anyway because of the two different textures.

Yeah, the lights isn't dynamic, its "painted" over the texture. I'll use the shadows and highlights as a overlay for the textures, the same way I use the AO on external textures.

thats it, I'll make 6 pieces, then the exporter assemble it acoording to what is wanted.

norwegian body
dutch body,
norwegian cupola
dutch cupola
interior (maybe the same for both)
propellers
