mrmong wrote:i dont find this version of PR very fun. it feels clunky and wierd, The aiming system is silly, i know its the only aiming system you could implement i just don't like the way it works, feels really cheap and unpolished. Sorry but i'm not just having fun with PR.
The inability to spawn on Squad leaders sucks to, i remember once DEVS were like "NO we won't get rid of SL spawn or minimap" and now we are missing both, getting rid of these is arguably realistic, but from a game design view it punches teamwork in the face. Its a CHORE to get to the fight, find your squad leader, gather everyone together then finally work out what to do and attack the next point, then when you FINALLY make it to the middle of the map you get mystery killed from ten miles away and have to spawn back at the main base because your SL forgot his officer kit. I know you have a narrow view of how you want the mod to be, but if you take every game mechanic away its going to make the game boring, and nobody wants that.

I'm not saying you RUINED TEH EVERYTHING, but i think there are some bad decisions been made, and it sucks the fun out of a typical pub game, i think that PR 0.7 will be a blast in the tourny but i don't have the time to invest in that anymore. Yeah PR is still GOOD but not GREAT like it used to be. I have been following the mod since 0.2 so i haven't just came from BF2 pissed off that i can't get a sniper kit or anything.

oh and the mec LMG is fucking great,
I agree with your critique - 0.7 seem to be a step backward when it comes to teamwork :(

Really nice and useful work.

Thanks for implementing the new logistic system. When playing a map like Operation Ghost Train, the bridge really gets important for the first time now. Great not only to encourage a higher level of team work but also to the "simple" fact that the engineer kit now is of strategically importance.

Respect---Respect--Respect.

although i have had only one oportunity to play....
I LOVE IT!
I have some issue with not being able to spawn on a sqd ldr and then having to hump many a mile if there arent any spawns closer to the action. I also dislike the lack of mini map.
I am pretty sure i will get used to these changes as i play more.
Thanks for the best xmas gift!

Ya know, I think I missed these steps in my haste to install:

"Project Reality Install Details

* Make sure you have uninstalled any previously installed versions of PR. This can easily be done via the Windows Control Panel 'Add and Remove Programs', it should be listed as "Project Reality Mod 0.x".
* Make sure to manually delete any files that may have been left over in your C:\Battlefield 2\mods folder.
"

The game seems to be running fine though. Should I go back and uninstall .61 and reinstall .7? would I see performance improvements (Core 2 duo w/ 4 MB RAM)? OR should I leave well enough alone?

Never change a running system :)
So if it works fine, I see no need to reinstall.

Hey man you were in my squad today right(tank squad on kashan)?? Sorry to have left like that but i had to go. How did that game end???

ON TOPIC: I think that all this complaining about teamwork is due to a lack of leadership. If you have a good squad leader and good commander who both know what they are doing then you can have a REALLY GOOD GAME. I have been experiencing nothing but good games since .7 came out :) With these things you will have good rally placement, great communication(as in calling out all enemy using the new compass, like i do) and functioning tactics. A lot of you think but this is not possible but it is. Every game i have played i have tried to be a squad leader to make it happen and so far so good.

Yes I was, not so good as I recall... Your comments about a good squad leader are right on. I've played several rounds on .7 and 50% have been every man in the squad doing what he/she wants. The ones where the SL takes charge and even kicks those who do not comply have been the best. A good SL with good tactics (mission, RP placement, commo, etc) is a must.
I do miss the mini-map though. There is also a learning curve as players learn the differences between .6 and .7. You can read the manual all you like, but some things don't sink in until you actually do them (or try to do them since some rules have changed in .7)

Maybe this time, I can get the download on my computer! (god forbid my internet breaks after 95% downloaded) Anyway, I would be happy to try out this mod.. I try and try, but now I can finally do it and have it downloaded and see how bad my skills are in the game. Been to busy to play any games, yet alone to sleep.. Time to go back home sometime next month and download this mod and play on the server :D

Wow, I haven't visited for a while and now this new version is out! Can't wait to see this baby in action!! *downloading*

You might want to try one of these download managers because (almost?) all of those programs have Resume capabilities when the connection is interrupted.

Well after 2 weeks after 0.7 been released i can now say, the new aim system its a ****, well its seens its the first time the soldier take a assault rifle in his life. Other thing, damage made by the shots, 3 shots in the head and in the chest and the enemy DONT DIE.Some good things are made too like no more SL or APC respawn making teamwork more efective... well i really loved 0.5 and 0.6 i played around of 1000 hours... if this aim system continues i think a lot of old fans of PR will leave. I dont wanna annoy the devs but please decrease deviation system.
