I'm not a pilot Stemplus but I was doing AA in the ARG Air squad and the amount of 'chatter' on their net would have rendered CAS imposible with them, they were right as air they needed to talk alot and IMHO the freedom to do that is vital.

In real life CAS and CAP are seperate roles and only rarely worked togther in the falklands and that was only using the Sea harriers better radar and trying to laze with it. The Brit team were running one squad and CTDs apart they didn't seem to be doing well.

What IS needed that Smurf said we lacked is an SL in AIR that can either communicate with CAS or better still see and give cover to CAS and heli missions, but as is often the case with fighting SL's especially flying one they aren't able to.

If we organize this again I would do the same but try and get a ground base guy to run AIR SL - I for exaple would be happy to sit on the ship or Rio Grande and do that.

Also if repeated the attribution of the aircraft would have to be set in stone before - for example the Exocet ones stay with CAS till the Atlantic conveyor is sunk then switch squads to Air.

Next time I will have SL, pilot and Scimitar crew sign ups.
