please give me a description of your problem, and post your system specs from the PRLauncher support tab.

When i click play in hte launcher it says that it will verifi the client files. But after 1 min i get error 1301 Unable to contact verification server. Please chech your internet connection and try again. I opened the ports you said but it still does not work.

ghostcastl,
most probably your firewall or antivirus blocking PRLauncher.

Check your quarantine and firewall events list for prlauncher.exe,
give an exception in firewall for prlauncher
add prlauncher to whitelist for antivirus and antimalware.

I did all of that but i still get the same error. I even added Gamespy to the list.

Having the same trouble with brothers system,re-installed few times,tried various port openings,firewall and ant-vi exceptions with no luck.Using the same installer for both comps on same network which have done many times in the past,is there a chance something is going wrong there?

I think that i found a solution!!!!
(This worked for me and i don't know if it will work for others)

1. Download 'Portforward Setup Static IP Adress' (completely free)
2. Install it......
3. When you run it, at the bottom there should be a button that says 'Make it Dynamic' click that button and it will make your IP address dynamic.
4. Run the PR launcher and you should get an update.

It should be FIXED!
I'm sorry if it doesn't work for anyone else.

Think it was a static IP.Router is a Netgear N300,that software did the trick,what ever it did

hmm...no, but add PR to your firewall and viruskiller.... For people that has a router I dont have any ideas at all since I never used one myself.

I cant get the program to work, just says it cant parse my IP. Hopefully this will get fixed soon, PR worked fine before 1.0

I guess this is the end of me and PR until this gets fixed.......

I too would like to play pr 1.0. And I receive the 1301:unable to contact verification server error after clicking play on prlauncher. Bf2 1.5 works perfectly fine though, I am trying to come back and play some pr but none of the solutions so far has worked I port forwarded all ports mentioned, did the static ip thing but receive unable to parse error. I downloaded pr 1.0 from 2 different hosts incase it was the file. I also disabled firewall and antivirus. Still no solution. I would really like to get back into pr so can we get a fix soon please

You dont write what you tried so I think its hard for people to help you. If you have routers then Im very sure that is your problems.

I uninstalled all, cleaned my registry with registry cleaners, rebooted re-installed bf2, installed pr1.0 opened ports. Do all that crappy stuff and see if it doesnt help you.

I will end my subscription to this post now because I dont know how to help,

I have the same problem. I'm unable to play or update the game and get the 1301 error. I have tried both static and dynamic IP addresses, forwarded the ports 28900 and 29900 without success. Then I forwarded the ports listed on page 2, also with no luck. I'm quite comfortable working with DHCP and my router and I'm sure I've done these things correctly. I even made my computer a DMZ host. Still no dice. I uninstalled PR and all prior PR versions and then reinstalled PR 1.0 with the same issue. I have both a wireless n network running through a bridge and a wireless g network from the FIOS router. Neither will allow me to connect. I have whitelisted the Battlefield 2 folder with Avast. I used the PFStaticIP program, but it just lists however I have my IP configured in the router. I've been playing PR since 2007 and I'm really looking forward to 1.0. Below is my Support Info.

I fixed it guys, took me 2 reformats to get pr to work. I haven't installed antivirus yet but I found a fix
