I'm receiving a 1005 error about server communication, I click ok and launch again. I don't play the intro screen but I think that is about where it is crashing as it will look like it is loading and then boom, back to the desktop.

PRSPY is showing servers up with players so I don't know. Maybe it is a regional thing and I'll just have to wait it out.
Same problem :/ I use WIN 7

Alright, I've come to the conclusion its a regional thing, THIS IS NOT A HARDWARE ISSUE STOP WASTING YOUR TIME POSTING SPECS.

We just need to bring it to the attention of the DEVS, and PR community.

I only see this being a temporary issue, although it is very weird and we have never dealt with this before besides when the master servers were down.

Had a feeling this was server side, does not make sense for it to happen all of the sudden when nobody here has had any software/hardware changes. Guess we will just have to play the waitining game. Interesting how it's effecting people from Canada and the US as well as other places. If it's a regional thing, it sure is large. For sh*ts and giggles i uninstalled PR and reinstalled it, applied all patches and various Punkbuster updates, still no luck. Also tried creating a new profile and setting all profiles in general to default settings.

Having same issue. Not so tech savvy either. I guess I will wait for a solution. I appreciate any one's feedback. I did a fresh install and update of PR. Still same issue.

Good Afternoon,

Well, I think I found a workaround. Create a shortcut for PRLauncher on your desktop and change the command line to look like the following:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe" +join 64.237.49.109:17567

The important part is the: +join 64.237.49.109:17567

If you get a 1005 error, try again and it will usually launch. You will receive a message when you launch about not being able to read the server but you can go to Deployment mode and select which server you want.

The IP address above is for the HOG server.

I'm loading Saarema right now.

Good Afternoon,

Not joking, it is working. Put your favorite server IP/port number in and do it that way if you distaste HOG that much. It doesn't join you anyways as it gives an error. I'm playing Saaremaa now.

And after posting, I CTD. :P but it was prolly cuz I came out here to post by ALT-TAB'ing.

It worked for me, thanks. I got the error at the beginning and a green screen after the intro, but I could connect to servers (or at least to the one I tried) normally.

Ironwork post specs from launcher pls

Moorez maybe Master server was down have you tried again check PRSpy to check MS

Relentless lots of controls/mouse shit in those logs look there first.
That cant be the problem ive tried that a couple of times and its not working it will give me the error I close it and then the game will launch come up with the twirling dog tags right before the main menu opens and then it will close for absolutely no reason at all any explanation for this?

For what RAW said, just add +join (server IP) but what I did is put random numbers and I got an error saying that I couldn't join. Because of this I was put into the main menu and could join any server on the browser, co-op or deployment.

Alright. Are we all having the same issue? Yes, yes we are.

What is the issue?

The issue is that in our region when we attempt to connect to the master server, it does not connect, and because it does not connect to the server when PR does start up after getting the error the first time, the PR launcher is still not connected to the master server which makes the game crash, its a reasonable explanation.

So, what we're going to have to do is wait it out, and hopefully we can eventually connect to the master server, or a DEV will look into it.

I only see this being a temporary issue. Let's just wait for someone higher up to spread the word and hopefully the issue can be fixed.

Patience :)

Getting the exact same thing...
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-ca/librar ... s.85).aspx

Error 10054 seems to be the application loosing the connection to the host and trying to reset itself but fails.

Maybe in an attempt to block some attacker some legit major IP ranges have been blocked on MS site?
