The server sadly crashed with less than an hour to go and the teams being down to 15v15, MEC still probing the assault.
I was squadleading INF for the Rebels, garrisonned the troops just north of the Market, to supress any possible MEC forces coming up the main road. We then got under small arms fire from two MEC scouts. Supressed them back, but heard armour coming up the road. We had to fall back under fire since we dropped the suppression. Fell back to the small village/depo, and observed the small area we could from a hill.
Some time passed and the situation in the city was in our favor because of the tanks clearing out the APC and a bunch of infantry. We then repositioned to the main crossroad and defended Market. Got attacked by a single soldier, but managed to kill him and revive the squad. Then we got some scouts (again) on the same position they were engaged an hour ago, but held them off with suppressive fire, until the MEC tank rolled up a block south of us. We had a HAT at our disposal and after much thought, he flanked south through some buildings and lined up a perfect engine shot. But after that, two misses and the tank RTB-ed.
Shortly after that the server crashed. Too bad. We have some things to iron out, some rules to change but for the first time after a couple of years, it went really good!
That was probably best 2 hours spent in a video game even though I haven't fired my ak once. I hope that this kind of event will be held at lest once a month.
Do any of you know if the server recorded the match with battle recorder even if the server crashed? I would really like to watch the match again through eyes of MEC squad and see what they were doing.
I don't know if it was the server crash, but I got banned about 10-15 minutes into playing for whatever reason. I suspected it was range ip ban which I got caught into. It was probably pretty much the end as well since our squad at Syrians was advancing on the last flag, but that was slightly annoying.
Just like to give a quick thank you to the hosts of the event and those that took part. This was my first PR event i have participated in and it really was a lot of fun,,, looking forward to more.
For those that are interested here is footage taken from the MEC side, Squad 3
Wow, intro, event description, commentary. A proper job, sir!
We are cooking up new one-life events (with improvements and fixes), so stay tuned! In the future, we will also do INS and CNC, to see where that takes us.

Thanks Heavy Death & Temexter. Really enjoyed the event, and thanks for the efforts of putting it together i know it would have taken a lot of organisation. Also thanks for the share! Much appreciated!
We also had a lot of fun and seeing how much the majority enjoyed it really motivates us to do more of it.
So, as requested, here is some more event footage.

Actually I can't find any bans issued by an admin during the event. We implemented an automated way of removing dead players from the server though. I assume you died for some reason and therefore have been kicked from the server.
Ok, as my last statement I want to recommend to check our forums news page or the event news here on realitymod the coming weekend. You might find some more info about the next OneLife event.
