Damn I play commander often because I just want to chill and that 5 mins longer refuel at roundstart saddens me. I am happy with the QOL change though especially with the thermals, the old system was very finnicky and could often mean that I lose track of what I was actually trying to mark.

Also I hope we can implement something similar to a UAV for commanders in WW2/Vietnam. A recon plane perhaps? Even if its shootable.

Thank you for twenty years of hard work! I never thought I would see the day that the USSR made it into the game. (Granted I'm too busy nowadays to play the game regularly anymore...)

Are there fundamental differences now between the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria's forces which appear in the Grozny maps, and the "Militia" faction which appears in other maps? They seem to have almost the same equipment.

PR:BF2 v1.8.0.2 Changelog (2024/06/25)

General:
  • Fixed players being instantly auto-kicked when becoming squadless.
  • Fixed being unable to request kits after due to being considered "new to the squad" despite joining a squad for the first time in a given round.
  • Fixed WW2 Soviet faction being unable to place map markers through radio.
  • Fixed Chechen supply crates still showing militia flag.
  • Fixed Chechen and Militia 90 faction unable to build HMG emplacements.
  • Reverted changes to the soldier camera movement speed intended to better resemble the movement of the body, it caused too many side effects (reduced rotation speed remains the same).
MENU:
  • Fixed kit request menu being unavailable after taking over a squad from another Squad Leader.
KITS:
  • Removed Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck from German early WW2 kit geometries.
  • Updated WW2 Soviet rifleman to have same grenades as other factions.
SHADERS:
  • Fixed water being too transparent.
SOUNDS:
  • Replaced WW2 Russia Win theme with royalty-free music. Replaced WW2 Russia Lose theme with Warszawianka 1905 - Guitar Arrangement from Youtube by Luciano Classical Guitar.
  • Fixed missing voice line for requesting supplies as commander.
  • Fixed WW2 Soviet radio not making sounds.

Can you add ppsh for soviet squad leader? And i also remember times when dutch spotter has m4 with silencer, can you please add more guns like this for spotter kits in the future?

I can't thank you enough for nearly 20 years of fun, I started back in 2006. Removing Ghost Train and Jabal made my eyes water, they were, next to Al Basrah, the only maps that survived from the good old days.

That aside, hearing that you made more WW2 content instead of focusing on improving what already exists also made me scratch my head. Firearms in general need a complete retexture/model update, as well as certain uniforms. Some of the old maps need a rework as well.

Since I understand this is a free mod, would it be possible to donate money or would you allow people to contribute this content themselves? I have a friend that is a pretty good 3D artist, who might be able to rework some of the old M4/AK weapon systems so they look pretty great.

For the sake of nostalgy, and since I still have PR 0.5 which I play in coop with a mate sometimes, here's a screenshot of some of the old maps from way back then (there are some new ones as well):

Hello, I come from the BF2Hub Discord where a PR user claimed that this change right up here has had a massive impact with a core problem that the BF2 base game suffers from: mouse skipping / mouse stuttering / mouse jitter when moving your soldier 1st person camera sideways (plenty of video footage collected here, especially page 2).

This is what the user said, exactly. Are you guys aware of this massive feat / can you verify / give some input on the matter? If you want to contribute to our forum link above, be my guests (a user in 2021 said that it had NOT got to do with the solider body turning animation... :? ).

amazing game, amazing update, amazing maps :)

still happening almost everytime i join the game at any map...


"Fixed a bug with Auto Deploy getting stuck." this still happening BUT not just AUTO deploy tho, when i duoble click it acts like going to join server but nothing happens and i need to click ESC and click disconnect and try again with same server and same thing and to fix i need to try to join another server and when map loading screen appears click ESC and do it at least 1 more time then i can join the server i want(the one i first try but couldnt join) .. some times after this error when i click join it shows server full error even tho server is not full (like at least 10 more space available).
it was like this for a year or so and after update still happening :/
i do clear shader server caches etc. still happens...

also after i die in a vehicle, i can still see the vehicle (chopper jeep etc.) survied but actually it is not

Inability to deploy might actually be an issue with your internet connection. To verify that, try to use a VPN or mobile internet connection. If deploy works with either of those, then you should complain to your ISP.

Besides the great update and hard work I wanted to shout out that you really did a great job also with making the update near absent from game breaking bugs/glitches, shows your strong and professional effort to deliver quality updates.
You guys only needed a couple of hotfixes it seems like. Well done
