great work, now maybe my squad leaders will take me seriously when i suggest only operating one or two vehicles at a time and have dismounts at the ready to check paths.

Ford ranger or humvee can be toast from those. Seen a 200lb of HME in a jug like that hit a Ford Ranger, not pretty man.

I think he means what actually makes the spark or w/e to set them off. I'm assuming some small battery that completes a link when the board snaps.

This is actually a pretty cool design. Gotta give it to the talibibs to create some pretty creative IEDs lol.

Will blufor be able to deactivate these?

me:"watch out there is an IED in front!"
solider:"it's just a bottle relax..."
passing over the bottle...3 man squad wiped out
me:"told ya..."
solider rages silently.
(refered to who that don't watch Devblogs and no dirt pile)

Can the stones be placed where there isn't an IED?
Yep, so you can just use them as hobbnob said to freak out the enemy, which they are also used for a bit in r/l too as part of a physiological war :p

Typically a low voltage household battery, seen a box of AA Enegiser batteries recovered from a bomb factory, but you can see in the first ref the batteries are wrapped up in that red tape and connected with the wire:

Don't have any batteries on my model but that's since the batteries are connected up when its put together in the field normally.
Oskar;bt9056 wrote:Can the small rocks be used (abused) in clumps to form cover for a soldier (albeit small and somewhat insignificant)? :p I'm sure you've thought of this possible exploit, just curious.
Nope, they are too small and I'm pretty sure bullets don't hit them either.

For the disturbed dirt the object gets culled (ie stops drawing) at 100m or so away unless your zoomed in.
Conman51;bt9098 wrote:Will blufor be able to deactivate these?
Yep, an engineer with a spanner/wrench will be able to, and the sapper will also be able to pick these up with his shovel :)

Possibly even blurfor can shovel these away currently in fact but might need to look into that since this is a more complicated type of IED to diffuse than a grenade trap :p

Are these still set off if you crawl prone past them?

Nope, you can crawl on them to diffuse them and they won't go off, they only will if you walk over them :)

Great, things will get nasty :).

Question, besides you can mark it with the stones. Are the isurgents/talibs, able to mark it on the map, like AT mines?

And can these explosives be destroyed by any other explosives/fire? Such as, AT HE etc.

1, yes and 2, not sure about that, would have to ask K4on as I know he looked into it but can't remember if he managed to get that working and haven't tested it myself :p
