:D We've been doing that since the day duckhunt posted the ammo dump map.

After doing a good deal of commanding though, I find it's wasteful for the most part. You only need one spec ops guy on a dirtbike doing it. You can insert him via BH. He can subsist just fine off of the ammo dumps as he blows them (takes 15 secs for a SLAM to explode and ~11 to reload one). And the A-10s are much better for taking out exposed ammo dumps and spawn cars.

As you insert him, you can also drop an M95 gunner on top of the hotel.

I usually ask my guys to just have a single spec ops demo guy, and have the rest go with the main attack. Once he finishes all the ammo dumps not exposed from the air, I assign him to spawn cars that are in tight alleys and whatnot and not accessable from A-10s.

Thats nice :)

btw, I added a third video to the series.

wasteland you are right that most of this can be accomplished by a single specops player. Part 3 - Lone Wolf shows the first minutes of my squad when i was running around alone.

TG has been with this for nearly a week.

This will stay around for some time in order to get a feel, if any, for the red bug, and if the majority of the players like it.

There are pros and cons both ways.

_____

I too am interested in destroying the Tagos.

I hear that at Villiage, tango SLs can stay underneath the flag and just defend themselves and have Squad members stay on the flag orb, thus the Corp needs to have a lot of players on the flag for it too switch.

Is this true? And if so, what is the best way to tackle this tactic?

Man, USMC team today on Al Basrah on the TG server, were just going around destroying bridges and spawn cars. It was brutal.

So my squad camped near the airport with RPGs, IEDs and SA-7 for revenge.

the A-10 is the best way.. since the walls are penetrable with the bombs and guns, strafing it and bombing it works great.. tonight SkyloAG and I had salad_shooter commanding on devfile, tore it up at the beginning! strafed the building at village hard, I remember having every squads squad leader underneath once and we would take damage when an a-10 would strafe, even in the basement! so thats why I kept hitting it, however salad_shooter left before the round was halfway over and we weren't as productive without his 'eye in the sky' and ended up losing it :-/ but I did go around 90 to 1 in the A-10, my first death to water.. came in way too hot.. and then died three two more times trying to get to 100:1 ratio while riding / flying the cobra, so ended up 98 and 3.. always great games with these two players though, look forward to each round on their team!

maybe its usefull to stick 20 men in form of groundforces(brought in by apc/Blackhawk) together and try to time it. i know thats the whole problem of the usmc that most are waiting for a10 and cobra, but i said it once more now,
believe in us-infantry assault!

Shining Arcanine wrote:I was thinking, that the best way to defeat the insurgency is for the United States to exercise as scorched earth policy. This means to take and/or destroy everything that the insurgents can use. In particular:
  1. Destroy all spawn cars
  2. Destroy all bridges leading to the two islands in the southeast corner of the map
  3. Destroy all ammo dumps
  4. Pick-up and put down all SA7, PKM and SVD kits so they disappear off the map
  5. Destroy all motor cycles
  6. Destroy all trucks
I tried exercising this policy on Al Basrah today and I had some success, but my squad had trouble staying together and the insurgents crowded the areas that had these assets. So in addition to all of the above, I recommend two very important things:
  • Keep a line of sight with your squad leader at all times
  • Memorize where all of these assets spawn on the map.
Lastly, I would like to suggest that the Cobras and A-10s aid in destroying all of these assets that are visible from the air, focusing particularly on the spawn cars in the case of the Cobras and the bridges, Tanks and APCs in the case of the A-10s.

If the US can do all of this, it should be able to rout the insurgency out of Al Basrah.

Good tips. Thx.
Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.
