I was wondering if it is allowed to create customized top secret minimaps (and maps) that we can use in PR World Cup.

Is this sort of behavior ok for PRWC, for PR public, or is it not allowed (I guess if I would join any server with edited files, I would be punkbusted for good?

This is a simple example of the type of customization I'm talking about.

you just load up the minimap from the mapfolder/client.zip/hud/ingame

then you can edit it and save it as a non-.dds format for easy viewing/uploading

just don't save a custom version in the client.zip or you wont be able to play

punkbuster will kick you for modified content if you save a new minimap back into the files.

select the whole water area and use a simple color to paint all the water, or you choose a picture of water or however you like it

Sorry but the pictures where hosted on a site that went down and with it, I lost all the pics to this tut so can't upload them to a different spot, or I already would have :(

Would need to basically redo this tut in order to do it, might do it next time I get round to making a minimap, or someone else who understands this tut could possible but right now, got other stuff I'm working on.

Rudd let me in on a little secret today, so I thought I'd add it here and to the tutorial:
Added by AFsoccer: If you have problems after lightmapping an object (like the crate that Rhino mentions), then another option is to lightmap the closest terrain grid. So if you lightmap an object and your cursor turns into a hundred move arrows or you can't move your screen afterwards, then try lightmapping the terrain, using "terrain / primary / closest / final" as your settings. You'll want to have a backup of your terrain lightmaps so you can swap an old one for the one you're about to do, but it will accomplish this task and the new terrain shadows won't show up until you re-open the map (so the minimap will look the way it should). Hope that helps.
By lightmapping the terrain on final (instead of an object) I was able to select the trees, move around, etc... so hopefully this helps those with the same problem. :)

thats not true, its depending on your editor settings, i have "texture reload" enabled so it will reload after finishing the lightmapping so you might note this also :)

first off what version of photoshop do you have. secondly the script moves it to your C: directory.

Odd question. Is your main drive called C :? If it isn't then tell me the name of your main hard-drive and I'll change the code for ya.

Also Make sure that you are putting the editor script in the right custom command slot. Should be "CustomCommandFile1" not "CustomCommand1". If it isnt in the right spot the editor will not make the megamap files.
