one wonders why they didn't use normal 32bit integers... as if it was a major memory issue... THAT would do for a lot more ladders

Not so much when during test sessions a tester would inadvertently run around a corner and make contact with a ladder crashing us all and forcing a server restart. Before it was discovered this created more than a few headaches for us....

is that the case only when both sides have max no. of firebases?

Keep em comeing in guys! How about some nice action shots? BTW are the new effects talked about and showed off by your new effects artist going to make it in this release? I hear he made some real headway with killer effects for the bigger weapons in the game.
IE I also took note that there was a new dust effect around choppers in the trailer so I take it as a yes that new effects from the PRs new effects man are in right?
