Nothing is locked or non editable. Plain and simple.
IF someone has put security features on the files you downloaded then let us know from who and where you got your download from, since that would be wrong.

From the guy who made the installer...
No files are read-only, I made sure if this, because infact some files were read-only when I got them before I made the installer. If files are read-only, they are files within a zip, and to get around this to save the file to your desktop, uncheck read-only, then put it back into the zip using some archive tool (I use WinRAR).
I can edit my files just fine, and so can other people that I've asked, so if it's not working for you, blaming the mod and development team for something that is clearly limited to your end is pretty lame.
