The model and the texture was made by theWill, but from now on I'll be dealing with it.

I must to optimize something on the UVs, add some details on the normal map, and probably some make changes on the texture, but not now, I'll let you know when I get back to this.

KK If you dont want to re-UV it you can use bodypaint or mudbox demos, they work well for painting camo over UVs that dont join up....

Hey, I'm adjusting the model to the game standard, at first I optimized the mesh, by removing less needed faces, then things that cause the Z-fight (overlapped doors and hatches) and finally what can easily done by normal mapping, the results: 30% tris reduction from 10004 to 7109, even with much better tires.

I'm not planning any interior so I already started the UV process, any opinions before I move further?

Quite a few bits on the back could do with being welded on rather than intersected....specifically the bolts\chain thingys, and the rear door hinges.....the cylinders might be ok but i would probably weld em on anyway.....

This program seems to be really good, I'll try it.

There are several types of armament, 90mm AP or 25mm AA or .50cal or the most common in Haiti, FN MAG 7.62, but in Amazon we will have the transport version to probably replace the truck, don't know about the others
Image

As soon as I finish the transport model I'll make the cupola for the FN MAG.
________

Update, it isn't my best UV but here it is, much better than the previous

the barely visible new propellers

and the ambient occlusion

ps. don't dont know why some pieces became completly white on the AO, it never happen before...

OUWWW, this MUDBOX is completly AWESOMEEEEE...
the 3d paint feature is nothing compared to the sculpt and baking capabilities, I must spend a few hours to learn how to use it better...

the basic camo paint done in 15 minutes after installed...

Too bad you need to buy a licence...well there is a trial version
It seems very useful, I will advert it. (all our skinners are complaining about how it's diffffiiicuuult to place the camo on a vehicle...)

Yeah, told you it was good, you can thank me later :D

The sculpting tools are excellent too, but not much use for the APC.....

humnn in fact it is

those vehicles are old and the colors will be basically that, with some variations, dirt and etc.

Yeah, I've developed a "guettho way" to make seamless camo in photshop but Mudbox does it in realtime.
It still lacks in 2d effects, better brushes, so you still have to do the rest of the work in photoshop but it gives a HUGE head start.

But what i'm really impressed is with the amount os polys it can handle and the speed it bakes it. It takes 15 seconds to bake 200K to 200 tris, incredible... I must make some highpoly thing to put it to the test.

yeah body painting is pure win. Drav has been nagging me to use it, and I finally did. works so perfectly to fix up seams and camo patterns :D

hey folks,

I made a highpoly(170k) wheel and tires and baked AO and Normal to 200 tris, check it out...

the Maps

and the Urutu with his brand new shoes

I even made a short video to how great it is the results
<object width="640" height="320"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2dyNYOBWSls&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2dyNYOBWSls&hl=pt&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="320"></embed></object>[/youtube]

I loved this program, light, powerfull and incredible fast, took elapsed 75 secs to do this job. Now i'll make everything ultra highpoly...
