About the Mossberg, the weapon was done by REQUIN94, a former developer of the French Forces faction, Picatiny rail and Aimpoint are from the PR mod, Chuc animated the Mossberg without Aimpoint, and I exported the Nor version.

Im sure its possible to make the M82 penetrating glass, just like the M95 in vanilla.
So SQLs in support trucks will be added to my target pool :) and perhaps even pilots of transport helis :D :D
omg wet my pants when i think of camping on a enemy landing zone waiting for a chinook to land and than BOOM

Im hoping the barret gets the biggest zoom ever ingame, or we will have problems as snipers with staying stealth and leaving our spots.

It will penetrate the glass like the M2 browining is doing now. M82 and M2 is using the same caliber so the only difference is scope and the rate of fire and ofc that you can carry it :p

So thats mostly the only advantage with the rifle..

what zoom scale will the scope have?
I found this on wiki: "Visier: Zeiss-Zielfernrohr (6-24x)"

Probably some thing like that yes, it need some more testing, to find out what works best ingame..

then I shouldn't be a DEV either since I am strongly against reintroducing the .50 snipers.

1. They do not properly portray what PR is all about. Regular soldiers, not the select few with the gear and the spechul farzes traningz.
2. The positive effects of such an asset is strongly outweighted with the smack-tarderie that revolves around such an item.
3. It is designated as a material destruction rifle (MØR = material ødelæggelses rifel = material destruction rifle), hence not a designated sniper rifle. And this is feature of material destruction is not properly represented in PR to let it fulfill that role.

/my opinion - now in public.

Despite the sexual appeal of the M82 im questioning the use of it as well.
Why would it be needed? Going by Wiki it says that the Norwegians use the AWM and the NM149 as siper rifles.

@Z-trooper

1. This is the sniper rifle of the Norwegian Army, used by units ranging from Special Forces to the Home Guard
2. might be true, but so is the case around all sniper rifles in PR
3. allthough designated MØR, it is most commenly used against infantry, and there is no restrictions on the use of the weapon, forces are (atleast for now) even allowed to use high explosive ammo.

@priby
the AWM was in use by special forces only, and the NM149 is now replaced by M82 and HK417

I believe the only problem that might occour with this weapon, is the fact that it is semi-automatic.

The point being, that almost every other western nation uses a .50 as a material destruction rifle - most of them probably also more frequently used as a sniper - but you don't see these nations having the weapon implemented in PR given my previous statements.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

That is a key rule when it comes to balance.

Not the balance of assets but of the game play experience. I still remember people standing in groups on basrah just waiting for it to spawn. Even after it was removed. It makes good teamplayers in to tards that want what that big gun represents - and not make the game an enjoyable experience.
I can already see that the opfor side of the norwegians will have a squad dedicated to hunting down and claiming that rifle just for the sport of it - hence not what the game is all about.

For the record it is not the power or abilities of the weapon I am against, it is what it represents as stated in my previous post.
H.sta wrote: @priby

Unless those rifles were MØR's then no. The M82 fulfils the role of material destruction (hence the MØR designation), not sharpshooting which I assume was the role of the NM149 and AWM.

Nothing personal. I just don't want to see suggestions and feedback posts in the 100's about the US Army, UK, and every other nation implemented - or being implemented uses such a rifle - and why they don't have it.

Fortunately for you guys I am apparently the only one that is against this. But I foresee dark times for such an asset.
