1.You need fastest singlethreaded CPU you can get.
2. Preferable fastest RAM you can get.
3. SSD would be nice aswell, but optional.
4. 100Mbps network would be enough unless ddosed i guess?
Let me fix this....
1. Any xeon e3 or intel i3/i5/i7 2th gen or above is enough for PR Server with the improvements made on version 1.4
2. Shit ram speed/timing did not changed the performance of the server
3. SSD wont make ANY different for PR Server.
4. 100Mbps is enough even if you are getting DDOS. DDOS filtering should be done by the datacenter. (OVH/Choopa for example has a good infrastructure that can handle DDOS of 50Gbps)
5. [joke]THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION. YOU SHOULD USE WINDOWS. WINDOWS WILL GIVE PLAYERS GOOD HIT DETECTION! LINUX SUCKS! LINUX IS SHIT! LINUX MUST DIE! [maybe_not_joking]

Could you show us a progress bar, or just an update, a dev blog perhaps?

Can the supply drop feature of the vanilla BF2 can be implemented on the choppers?

i think its possible, but what's the point if we already have supply crates

I take it you mean having supply drops falling out of choppers on a parachute? It is most likely possible to do but I'm pretty sure this is a very uncommon practice, especially in a war zone when a chopper and easily land to drop off the supplies it needs and any significant amount of supplies are normally underslung loads in r/l. If the zone is so hot that landing helicopters to resupply is too risky then having a helicopter slowly overfly to parachute out supplies would be too and I would expect in that situation a C-130 or similar cargo transport plane would be used to parachute out supplies quickly and in higher quantities, significantly minimising the risk.
