Should this thread 'wish list' part (a post by Mineral) to be updated though? Because i couldn't really figure out what specific kind of weapon/vehicle variants needed for the game.

For example, the FMTV ones, are they going to be 4x4 or 6x6? Are they going to be with or without winch etc.

Thanks in advance, Dev's-

That kind of detail is a bit too much for just a general list of things needed. If you are interested in starting a specific project, feel free to create a thread for it or ask in the thread you linked.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I was like doing a list, outside this forum about these assets. Imma keep it anyways, until i'm ready for a new thread.

That being said, could do 4x4 as transport and 6x6 for logi. It would also be good to get one that can be used by both the US and Canadian forces.

Do CSB deploy spots count as networkables when making a map?

CSB's are networked since they are configured as a DestroyableObject in the .con and .tweak files so yes.

If you plan on using it as a non-destroyable static, can create a SimpleObject version that doesn't need a networkable.

Honest question

DEVs what keeps you pushing to keep updating the game and laying so much effort for free on a game with low pop? Have you ever felt your energy would have been better allocated elsewhere?

1. Memes
2. Nope, I develop the game I love to play with the aim of further improving my experience when playing. With that being said, the motivation of developers who don't play anymore is a huge mistery to me as well.

This has probably already been asked but I'm not clever enough to use the search function properly.

Why are maps removed/retired from the game?

Isn't more is better. Let the public/server admins decide which are worth playing. I remember a few. Quai River? Operation Ghost train and that other large 4km desert, hills and the massive raised castle in the middle of the map, often Canada vs Taliban. I cant remember any of them being a stinker. Im sure there are loads more. Size of download cant really be an issue any more is it?

Operation Ghost Train is still in the current version. Operation Archer is what you are thinking of I believe.

Generally, the aim is to maintain a standard of gameplay across the map library, sometimes levels that have been in the mod for years (some 15 years+ !!) have fundamental flaws where the rest of the game has moved on and they cannot be easily tweaked without a huge rework to keep up. As such, they are retired.

Arctic Lion and Operation Archer weren't fundamentally flawed. They both just needed some love and better asset allocation to alleviate minor gameplay issues. Same with shikotan island.

I'm sorry but I don't get this at all. Long time players and new players that I've been inquiring while playing say there is quite the opposite view. Three maps come into mind.

-Jabal al burj, An absolute classic. Got played a lot and was popular in votes until it got removed with Quai.
-Muttrah city, Also a legendary map honed down in development for a decade plus. *cheffs kiss*
I'm straight with my words but the map got down right ruined for most people. Personally going from a map I would like to play to one I hate. The gameplay with flag and asset changes has made the gameplay stagnant and predictable from both sides. Honestly this change quite baffles me.
-Kunar Province, I see the point and with the skyboxes quite beautiful map, but my god is it a turd on gameplay front. Impassability on almost all terrain makes everyone playing the game frursrated. Most of the map has nothing in it and no one has any reason to go there because there are no roads. (the only passable terrain)

You may not like to hear this and sorry being so blunt, but I feel some things age well with time like a good wine. And removing age tasted maps, yes maybe dated looking but gameplay proven classics and giving a SQUAD lvl map in return doesn't help.

oookay so here's my question

so in the features section there are 3 WIP factions right ? (Syrian forces, Red Army, Ukrainian army)
i'm pretty curious about the news on them

oh yeah and also what about cut content like the HK53, molotov cocktail, AK-101 and PP Bizon, will we ever see those (and will Militia get scoped AKs or nope, sorry i may have been spoiled thanks to Hamas or ARF surprising me that i can have stuff like AR-15s or FALs and stuff other than a AKM/AK74 :P )

Will we ever get extraction mode back? I remember playing the shit out of that mode on street.

If not the mode. Then can we get just the map street itself back for skirmish/gungame? It would be perfectly suited for such close quarters combat.
