What do you mean by mess with them independently? Change the amount of blur/smudge each on has?

I might try and make it more painting like and less pastely (if you don't understand, image that drawn with pastels and paints, you should get it.)

i know, the rotor blades need a bit more editing to blend in nicely. maybe i'll work on it later.

Reality, erase the rotor blades and then re-draw them, they would be harder to see if it was a screenshot so you can set them at a low opacity.

Nice rendering there, did you do that yourself or did you use the magic wand tool?

i am not quite sure how to re-draw them but will give it a try. i think they are too dark and thick as well.

and yeah, the lower half was done by the magic wand but i did the upper half with the brush mask tool . it took me almost 20 min, just to cut the whole thing out.

Hehe, I'm a pen tool man.

The way I would redraw them is using vector shapes (so pen tool lol) to create a large area and then using a layer mask, brush away the areas that wouldn't be visible, then lower the opacity of the area.
