Just tried it, works pretty good :D . I had to install "Face Tracking API" though, as it was missing a DLL. But after that, worked nice!

Though moving my head around wasn't very smooth in-game. Not sure if that's due to my webcam, or a setting, or that it's just because BF2 doesn't really support it. But, it's good nonetheless :) .

My webcam sucks so its wobbly and if i put the smoothness higher to get rid of it it laggs too much behind my head movement.

1. Download all Freetrack, FacetrackNoIR and Bf2 freelook and install all 3 of them.
2. Open FacetrackNoIR and BF2 Freelook as admin.
3. Edit FacetrackNoIR settings in the facetrackNoIR window:
  • Game Protocol = "FreeTrack".

4. Run PR.
5. Modify the FacetrackNoIR settings until you are pleased with the results.

ELSE: If you would like to you could download my settings file and load it in FacetrackNoIR to use the same settings as I used, then modify them to fit your needs.

This made it work for me.
This worked perfectly for me,no troubles at all with PB :)
It helps to have a relatively good webcam and not placing the cam too low or too high relative to your head.
I have mine situated on top of my monitor and that is slightly too high and doesnt show the croshairs dead center of the screen unless i stretch my neck higher up.
Having it on the bottom of my monitor gives similar results but only reverse :P
Maybe i should duck tape it to the center of my monitor ?! :p

But the software works great, some adjustments needed, but nothing major, thanks for posting this, should make flying more fun now :D

Doesn't work for infantry, only vehicles.

Trackir is brilliant for vehicles in Arma2 and makes flying a breeze. For infantry? It is useful to a extent but really conflicts with mouse movement a lot, it makes it hard to zoom in accurately and generally is just annoying and not useful for boots on the ground.

( once i get it up and running im going to attempt to use the face track to move my man left and right while using an Xbox controller to walk streif shoot and other assorted tasks) :D keep a look out

( TIP ) TO GET RID OF LAG TIME BETWEEN HEAD MOVMENTS : Under GLOBAL SETTINGS set smoothing samples to[0] this will make it more responsive and less "why does it take so long to look the direction i want "

Hi,
talked to AfterDune already. Seems to be a problem of the name of the running process. It is not bf2.exe anymore but PRBF2.exe-that is why bf2freelook does not recognize it.
There is obviously no chance to change it back to the old way of launching the executable.
My opinion: We should establish a petition for the next version of PR - but chances seem to be low. The DEV team says, we shall contact the developer of bf2freelook.
I tried this multiple times, but he is not answering (it?s kestrel, his website is FreeTrack Online)
Bad news, eh?-Sucks big time, loved to use bf2freelook as well...

Just hex/hack the bf2freelook executable to recognize prbf2.exe then
It does detects the process by a window name probably:
Image
*different 'BF2 (v' somehow refers to 1.41 and 1.5 so you have to find out which one first.)
Can't test it now as i dont have a pc with pr installed but if you guys did not change anything inside bf2.exe the trick with window title should work. But as prbf2.exe looks heavily modified i doubt that :)

Very kind of you, thank you (seriously!).
I dont know why kestrel does not give any replies concerning this topic.
He published 780 posts about headtracking on his homepage and is online almost every day
on his homepage- strange...
