If anyone has PR installed on WinXP, I could use some help,
go to PRLauncher->Options->Global section, under the "Update Download Location", can you copy and paste the directory location listed. I don't know the exact location.
Bonus points if you have a non-English version of XP installed.

Thanks that worked.
I installed the patches manually until I got to .33, then the autopatcher worked.

Step 1. Install the PR 1.0 release .iso . You should already have done this.
Step 2.
PRLauncher->Options->Global section, put a check in the "Keep Update Files" tickbox, click APPLY.
Step 3.
download this file:
Right click this link and Save to Computer.

This is the default location as listed in the PRLauncher->Options->Global section, under the "Update Download Location".
Step 4.
Navigate to C:\Users\[USERNAME]AppData\Local\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\Downloads\ and open the prbf2_1.0.29.0_to_1.0.30.0_client_patch.prpatch file.
You might need to associate the *.prpatch file type with the PRLauncher. If you need to associate it, it's located in \Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe
Keep this Explorer window open, we'll need it again.
Step 5.
To test,
Start PRLauncher, and try to automatically update to 1.0.36
If it works, much joy and happiness.
If it doesn't work, we will download and install all the patches manually
!!!! NOTE: installing any patch out of order can cause total failure of the pr mod folder file structure and you'll have to do a clean install !!!!

As soon as I start the launcher as an admin, no more errors. So doublecheck this first

Many thanks, just updating to 0.30 then trying to automatically update resulted in Error 1212 again so looks like Im going to have to do it all manually

CAn you please start PRLauncher, go to SUpport ->Copy to Clipboard, then paste it all here, so I know what your system specs are.
I'll post a direct link to the newest patch once I can find the public url for it on the hosting server.
Here is the direct link: files.ancientdev.com/updates/prbf2_1.1.1.0_to_1.1.4.0_client_patch.prpatch
You'll download it, then double click it, and PRLauncher should start and apply the patch automatically.
I'll post back ASAP.

I've read all the posts recently, skimmed more like, and I noticed the problem I'm having now is that what is installed is 1.0.26.0. This "update failed" alert pops up when I click on the link that many have recommended be put in the downloads folder for PR.
If I try updating through the PRLauncher, the updates stop after the first update that finishes. Example below:
Ex: I started at 1.0.31.0 and updated to 32, then the next update (32 to 33) said "corrupt." This is a constant occurrence when going through the launcher. I will try to see if I can get all the way to the end of the updates this way though.

Do i need gamespy comrade for this? it's what is used for battlefield 2 core. yes i know gamespy's shut down but EA is still able to support battlefields multilayer.
