My friend and I that live together both tried turning off QOS in Mumble but we still lost connection. I'm getting really frustrated with this since the game ran fine for the longest time and now I cannot play it.

VirusCodeX wrote:Try turning off "QoS" under advanced settings in Mumble. In the PR launcher go to options then Mumble then launch Mumble. I turned that setting off and I've played 2 full games without getting disconnected. Kinda early to tell if it's a fix cause I could just be getting lucky but give it a shot and see if it works for you guys. I'll report back if I start getting constantly disconnected again.
So far so good. 1 map without getting dropped.

Scratch that, just lost connection with 20 tickets left

Can try unchecking the TCP option in Mumble too on the same page as QoS and see if that makes a difference. That sucks though I must have just been lucky and it let me play 2 games. If anyone figures anything out please post! Thanks

Those options aren't working for me either still getting DC'ed. I'm pretty much giving up on this as I said I've tried everything. I'll just wait for the game Squad, I backed it so get access sometime in September. Good luck guys.

It's sad that this is our only option with no word from any dev. I think we can deduce that it's somehow caused by mumble, and the all-in-one router TWC gave all of us, but PR is the only game where I get this issue and I think that's the case for many of us.

I guess that's it for me too, sad but there's no other choice. We literally can't play the game we all love and it's just radio silence from anyone with the knowhow. Squad does look promising I'll admit but I'm already growing farther and farther away from gaming as it is.

-OK I HAVE A FIX TO STOP THE CONSTANT DISCONNECTS-
At least for me, hopefully other people too. Im on TWC and have an Arris modem/router and once I changed these settings no more disconnecting from server problems. Note that it might be one of these changes or all of them together but I have them all changed and PR is working completely fine now. Hopefully this works for other people that are not using an ARRIS Modem too, give it a shot and report back.

First you need to get into your Arris control options through your web browser. The address to open it is "192.168.0.1" without the quote's just type it into the address bar and hit enter. Sign in with your info, if you haven't changed it - it is set to default with the username "admin" and the password is "password" without quotes.

Under Basic Setup uncheck/turn off WPS Settings.
Under LAN Setup under DHCP Server Settings put your Lease Time to 3600000.
Under Lan Setup uncheck UPnP.

NOW HIT APPLY AT THE BOTTOM. Make sure not to forget to hit Apply. Don't change any other settings unless you know what you are doing. After that reset the router. you can do it under the Utilities Tab in the same control panel. Now logout and wait until the modem reboots and connect to the internet again, you should be all set. Go try out PR. Those 3 settings made my server disconnects stop completely, hopefully yours too. Good Luck

I gave this a try to no avail.

I am near Dayton, Ohio. I have TWC and an Arris router.

At this point I have tried everything I can think of:

*Turned off Firewall/Anti-Virus
*Set PR to compatibility mode
*Re-installed Project Reality
*Cleared PR caches via utilities
*Reset router to default settings
*Turned off Wifi
*Replaced Ethernet cable
*Re-imaged computer+Reinstall PR
*Upgrade of Internet service + new Arris router
*Applied VirusCodeX's recommended router settings

I play a few different games, PR is the only game with connectivity issues.

Not sure what to do at this point.

This is not an ISP issue. I have tried everything I can think of and I keep coming up empty. The only thing I cannot troubleshoot is the actual code itself. Since there isn't a single word from Devs on this, We can deduce it is somewhere in the programming. The rubberbanding and huge ping spikes have to be associated with incomplete programming. I have an amazing connection on every single game I have except for PR. You cannot tell me it has to do with my ISP. I replaced both my router and modem. I spent over 200 dollars diagnosing this problem only to have Devs not say anything.

Thank you for your help. I will continue to play for 5-10 minutes at a time because it seems to be too much of a burden to look into this problem. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!

Pretty ambitious opinion for someone who doesn't have a clue.

The Devs didn't told you to spent 200$, this was your decision so blame yourself. 90% of the cases, the problem is the user, not the program.

If they'd knew the solution to your problem they would have replied with an answer.

When did I say I did not have a clue? I have a degree and plenty of years of experience to lead me to this conclusion. I have used a myriad of different tools to diagnose the problem. The fact you have not contributed one bit to this discussion proves how worthless your opinion is. If the Devs don't know then they should say as much. No word is worse.

**UPDATE**

My game is almost fixed. I played for a week without a game crash. I believe the settings that VirusCode suggests works very well. The only option of Virus's I don't have applied is WPS turned off, it is currently turned on. I did follow his advice and turn off UPnP and set the Lease time to 3600000.

I can play for days now without a crash, they still happen but its no longer a big issue.

I recommend others try his settings.

I'm having the same problem. I can play for about 30 minutes and then my game will freeze for a couple seconds, and then "your connection to the server has been lost"

I've recently moved and had to switch to TWC with an Ubee router. At my old place I had Verizon Fios and never had this problem...so maybe its something to do with our routers.

Hello All,

I played Saturday night. HOG was totally full as was the free candy van servers. I would use the auto deploy feature to get on the servers because I do not have a reserved slot. After just getting squaded up and having fun I would get the Lost Connection to Server message. This happened every 5 to 20 minutes. It was frustrating. I guess I assumed that I was being kicked to make room for a player that has a reserved slot.

Any advice?

How do I send you my rig specs? I have Windows 7 Home Edition. 64 bit.

might be a better idea to make your own thread
i'm not too tech savvy when it comes to troubleshooting internet related issues, but i dont think it has anything to do with your rig. it could be your anti virus (if you have one, list it) or your ISP. make a new thread and provide all the details you can think of and we will help you with that.

before you do, make sure you have your anti virus whitelisting prmumble.exe prbf2.exe and launcher.exe

I updated to Windows 10 and I also updated my Punkbuster. The disconnection issues vanished. I had some great rounds on HOG last night.

Was playing in Free Candy Van and I get frequent the "lost connection to server" error spontaneously. I've no idea what to do I've ran all the tasks in the launcher, running the game as admin. This is the only game that I have issues with, I have a solid connection.

This happened constantly to me for the first week I downloaded PR and then went away. It's now back with a vengeance, I struggle to even connect to most servers and when I do it's constantly saying I've lost connection.

I have a good fibre optic internet connection which runs mostly at around 100mb dl 8mb ul and a ping around 10ms. There are no service issues in my area (UK Midlands) and I checked ping and dl/ul speeds this morning and they are all good...

everytime Windows update i crash everytime i'm playing like 20 minutes into it. is there a way around? cause Windows doesn't update once a year. it updates like once every two weeks, and having the same problem every two weeks is annoying as fuck
