The main issues are the lack of fully automatic weapons. Many kits not having any grenades at all. And the lack of effective weapon variety. The garand did not need a nerf but instead the German kar98 needed to be buffed. After the garand nerf kar98 is still bad. The kar98 needs more ammo or something. Why does rifleman not have both types of grenades frag and smoke? Submachine guns need to be increased and given to more people on both sides. Maybe to breachers? German team especially needs more automatic weapons. The mg42 should replace the mg34 in the spawn menu. It’s much better than the mg34. The mg34 should be a machine gunner alt. Half tracks are slow. Nobody uses them. The maps are poorly designed. Vehicles get stuck everywhere. Hedgerows have to many hidden trees. Too many potholes that trucks get stuck in. Omaha is not fun for Germans. Germans need more vehicles especially tanks. They should be delayed to still give the Americans a chance. Carentan and brecourt need to be remade and remove the death ditches around the farms where cars get easily stuck. Reichswald is to small.
Little crying baby. WW2 is awesome.

WW2 has a far different playstyle than normal PR by nature, there will be no way to make the two completely alike. The German side does suffer from a shortage of automatic weapons though, maybe give another MP40 to another slot?

No.

The Wehrmacht is already equipping just under half of its infantrymen with a weapon that isn't the Kar98k, and the FJs receive the best firearm in the WW2 theatre on every Squadleader. Even with the recent buff to Garand the Wehrmacht is well equipped enough. However the individual may think about his primary in a gun fight is a different story. Most classes remain combat relevant in spite of the Kar98k - as their utility ist still needed - so it makes no sense to me to put a more powerful weapon on them.

Perhaps one way we can make WW2 more lively is if we allow a greater use of mortars and bombardments. i say this specifically for WW2 because bombardment was a massive part of the entire conflict. i would advocate WW2 deserves more mortars than usual. there is also an old method of marking targets with red smoke for air bombardments.

Frankly the aircraft layout of falklands is far more fitting for ww2 settings. but ofcourse i understand prop planes should not behave or function as jets. there is some work there to make this happen.

or maybe squad leaders can call 2 offmap mortars per signal smoke (imitating air bombing)

another whole different approach is to allow increased squad sizes (or maybe even increased player cap?) historically the US ww2 squad consisted of 12 men. this could create a different dynamic the players could enjoy in a WW2 setting. Also a big reason for this layout historically has to do with the weapon systems they were equipped with, because weapons were made to be used in units. and the optimal squad size to allow for effective use of these weapon systems was 12 men (SL, Asst SL, scout 1, scout 2, BAR1, BAR asst, Ammo Carrier, 5 Riflemen)

these may be hardcoded from changing which i do not know about, in which case i want you to take away that WW2 settings can be improved by moving towards authenticity, not away from it.
