all we are going to do is give the cage a stronger amour than the normal amour, so if it hits the cage it will still do damage, but not as much.
I take it it's a bit beyond BF2 to have the things being destroyed when they take a nasty hit?

the scimitar will only be used on asymmetrical maps like Al basrah etc, wont be used on symmetrical maps unless the other team has something more or less the same, and if you balance it out by giving the MEC 1 extra APC, and giving the brits 3 scimitars that would turn into asymmetrical again :p

The vodnic is used on symmetrical maps as a heavy jeep, and without any other MEC heavy jeeps, it will stay as it is, for now.

Well, I think we'll be giving the Militia an X-Wing or two to balance things out. You know, for the sake of realism :)

Aint being made by the DEV team, being made by a R-CON. We may use it, we may not, it may just become a custom map for PR. At this time I can not say as we aint drawn up any final plan for what maps will be in .7

There are also other new maps that are coming up in .7, that are being made by the DEV team which we aint shown in this new post.

The warrior will still be the counterpart to the other faction's APCs. The Scimitar may replace it on some maps where a faster, weaker APC is better in game sense, and the opposing side doesn't have their APC. Otherwise, it'll either be fielded with the Warrior as a recon element in its own right.

The Scimitar is used extensively for reconnaissance therefore would it not be highly appropriate to include this vehicle on maps with MTBs, like Kashan. Where the Scimitar scout outs enemy MTBs, using its speed to flank behind enemy lines, spot, track, thus allowing friendly MTBs to outmaneuver the enemy tanks.

Also, as note, this vehicle was used in the Falklands war while no MTBs were available. Therefore on maps where the British forces are meant to be lightly equipped, say a para landing, securing of a Beach Head ext., would it not also be appropriate and very cool to include this vehicle, combined with 101s. Such types of operations would be a great opportunity to include Asymmetrical combat, where the lightly equipped assaulting forces (e.g British paras/marines packing light vehicles/tanks - Scimitar), that have the advantage of being highly mobile, face up against a more heavily equipped force(e.g MEC/PLA packing a few MTBs/APCs) but who are partially boxed in behind defensive positions and therefore less mobile.

This type of Asymmetrical maps would require each team to employ different tactics, just like in the Insurgency game mode. This being the ultimate test of player.

This clearly shows how it is relatively easy to transport the Scimitar, unlike the Warrior and C2 - Scimitar highly suitable for backing up rapid reaction operations.

This shows the use of the vehicle in the battle for Wireless ridge during the falklands war, backing up the lightly equipted paras.

GREAT JOB BOYS. :-P
Just thought i'd show you what a real Formation Recce Troop looks like in the field; this is B Squadron The Light Dragoons in Afghan this year.
Look at the extre armour and the cage, looks like the Dev's have got it just right.
