BF2 needs fog or it will look like ****. :) You need something to slowly cut off what you can/cant see otherwise it all just "stops" in a long line across the screen in the distance.

And yes, though its probably not technically "fog" there is a certain view distance in all environments. Air, debris in the air, fog, haze, clouds, etc all play into that. BF2 just uses one thing, a bland "fog"

This map looks great! It can take like 5 minutes before you got a enemy contact I think... And it can be great for sniper-teams... Great work! Keep going like this and you will be a good mapper.

In the editor its listed as "roundabout" not fountain.... Its under static objects/middle east/city architecture or common objects.... If I remeber correctly...

Someone needs to make a desert "shimmer" effect to limit view range fro the desert to replace the fog.
