I suggest you keep a hold of all the avi files (or whatever) and offer them to R-DEV Afterdune or other they would make fine additions to the behind menu video.

(also, the music from Tears of the Sun was nice and appropriate)

One thing that stood out -

The closeup of the soldier throwing in the incendiary.. he lobs it underarm

I liked it esspecially the technicals at the end...just like the movie

Sweet Vid!!!!! Only thing i disagreed on was the beginning, when they killed the civilians eatihn teh stuff at truck, and black hawk watching, the truck dude who kills them doesnt shoot at black hawk.

Really nice video, and really well done .

My favorite part was the shot of the blackhawk going down from the LB laser designator.

I loved the directing and editing, very nice job. You were very creative in usage of props; Strykers instead of UN APCs, littlebird camera for the UAV video feed, etc.


Not to downplay it, but 1:08 really bugged me. In the movie, the militia never fired on the Blackhawk. This was actually a very, very significant piece to the story; the UN cannot engage unless in self defense (The US forces in Somolia were sent in as part of the UN), so the militia were taking advantage of that and exploiting it, and all the soldiers could do was watch. This was very important in the story and gave the viewer a strong, uneasy feeling about the situation.

i didnt like the ending, was nothing like the real thing they didnt just get up and start dancing, i would like to have seen a better ending.

Good fkn job on a great recreation.

Great outtakes at the end. I also noticed the guy on the technical shooting at the black hawk, it bugged me. And also the part where they blow up a cache? Shouldn't that have been a technical after they walked up behind them and knifed the gunner & commander?

Hmph...time for critiquing. Alot of it was lol worthy, like the 2 suicide bombers. The 2nd one was just bulls**t.

The spin on Super Six 1 was way way overdone.

Blood effects were horrible.

The way that they went from scene to scene made it feel choppy.

Shagart and Gordon going in to rescue a pilot with a SAW...seriously?

I also really didn't like the 2 BTR-90s that they had sitting around..and the tank..

The US would never realistic send in their troops agaisnt an armored column without decent weapons to take them out.

The part where the SAR bird comes in is contradictory. An RPG to the tail sends the Blackhawks into downward spirals. Here the rocket is closer but the bird does not go down.

No APCs in the rescue convoy at first.
Then no humvees but 2 APCs and a tank.

The tank misses every shot from point blank but hits him in an undramatic shot at the end of the bridge.



They replaced the crappy vBF2 50cal sound with the sound from the movie.

They added vocals from the movie.

They mixed different scenes from different movies.

They managed to get so many actors to work together.

Our team wasnt particularly worried about scenes that do not conform to the film. We intertwined the film facts with PR realities very closely. Marines destroyed cache instead of seeking rebellious general. Column consisted of strykers instead of VABs, etc.

Anyway, scene with civils, gunner and BH poorly suited for the description above and looks very sharp against the background of the other scenes.
