Nice, works very well for its purpose, mudbox can make it together with photoshop but i think its more usefull for organic things...

I've been busy this week, just a little update;
- I had to rebuild the whole Uvs in order to proper display transparency and bumps
- changed the base camo
- added some detail like those screws, grids and that holes on the exaust
- still have todo some details on normal, the whole specular map and dirt...

missing smoothing group on the exhaust pipe :P

Other than that is looking great. You're going about this the right way, getting the basic layout done first....

Keep this as a reference of what the camo needs to be:
Image

And by the way, you need to remove the turret, or make something like this one:
Image

Also, by removing, you need to do a cupola like this:

Sorry for being late at references.

Already said, I'll model it later, and in separate geometrie to be interchangeable and not to screw up my lovely UV.

Luckly, the camo pattern is easly changeable with that Mudbox...

update,
changed Camo again
added heavy loads of dirt
added front/rear lights
added transparency, and envmaps (sadly only shown in game)
missin smoothing and pipe fixed

to do, specular maps and some details like some bolts and welded plates...

I see, I was making room on the UV for the new cupola, but shit happens, definitely I'll have to make a separated mesh and texture...

All Depends. it's not that big of an issue. Just change the texture to be exactly symmertrical left to right. and you shouldnt have this issue.

Just keep all DIRT and GRUNGE textures away from the edges of the tire texture.

how I'm supposed to avoid dirt on the tires? the whole vehicle in dirt and clean wheels?
I'll try a few tricks to blend it better, but for sure there will be dirt...
I dont wanna take any of the common "solutions", like blurin the seams or no dirt in the wheels like thoses

Other thing, you're only seeing this cause is too close, If look any actuall PR vehicle that close it will as uglier as mine.

I tried something

Yes I don't understand your point Wilki, his mud effect is pretty good on the wheels and looks realistic. :-)
Edit : for the turret, I think the DEVs will not blame you to have another texture sheet, that depends on the size of the current one ;)

I never meant NO DIRT. of course there has to be dirt. Just like you said, it would look very ugly. As you stated

Well your fix looks good. Can't even see the previous error.

Excellent work like always Mr. Sal.

Alright, the only good photos I found about the mount system was from a Colombian Urutu, it have no shield, but the system should be the same as ours.

Er, there is dirt on my BTR-80 tyres, its just between the treads if you look closely, and the whole tyre is slightly muddy. There isnt a simple solution, you have to play with lots of different layers until it looks acceptable. Right now I think yours looks a bit heavy handed, too much straight black then straight brown, but as you add some more layers I think it will look better. If you want the my SUVs just been offroad look then find some mud brushes and play with getting the spatter round the sidewall of the tyre. I couldnt do it convincingly so made the whole wheel more brown to blend it.

Subtlety is pretty important with vehicle texturing, dont expect it to look good just with a one layer mud pass.
