For years and years i have played PR and every update was as easy as, click download, wait, install... Now for some time I have been scrolling page after page, doing countless google searches, and desperatly trying to not only learn WTF a "Torrent, BitTorrent, Torrent file" is, but how it works and how the heck I'm supposed to download and install V 1.0.

Yes I have been using computers for years, yes indeed I've been a PC gamer as long as I can remember... No I have never dealt with torrents... PR/BF2 is pretty much the only software that has required me to go beyond loading a disc...

SO, Please someone inbox me a link to the detailed instructions of how to download and install V 1.0...

I tried to download a "Torrent Program" (See it's obvious IDK WTF I'm even talking about...so lame... I want to learn!!!) and I ended up haveing to restore my PC to the last restore point since the program came with loads of malware/spyware/ect.

I WANT TO LEARN!!!! And I have 3 other friends that I got hooked on PR that I'll be assisting in this process as well, so the sooner i have the intel, the more targets for ya'll to shoot at!

Ambush, I'm sure somebody will be able to help you out, but bear in mind that we do preloads as torrents because it's the best way to have lots of people/servers sharing the burden of uploading the files to the players.

We don't have the resources to host a download mirror where thousands of players will download a 6.0 GB file.

That's the good thing about torrents, you download it from everybody else that has downloaded or is downloading at the moment. Yes, it takes some knowledge to set it up right and get good speeds, but there are tons of guides online for that.

On release we will have download mirrors from multiple sites that will host the unpassworded installer. We can't host the passworded one in those places, but we do the passworded system for preloads so everybody can have the files ready to play on release day. We have been doing this for a few releases now and it has been working great.

If you have problems with torrents, you can always wait for the official mirror on release day, or use some unofficial ones that have been popping around here in the forums. Hopefully you can get it just fine.

yeah you can DL a torrent program like utorrent and then just open the torrent file with that and then wait for it to complete DLing.

the file is an .iso that needs to be hosted on a virtual disk drive or you can just open it with winrar

Anyway, this really was the first time I downloaded a torrent, and I downloaded this 6.0 GB in just in a hour.

I haven't played for about a year now, this has awaken my feeling for PR and my addiction to it just for those heroic/ridiculous war stories which would come from it. TIME TO LOSE MY LIFE AGAIN.

Because in the end there were over 21000 revisions, most of them were things being added or changed and then reverted shortly after. Besides this is better in teams of readability.

Guys can someone please tell me, when I install, where should I extract the install, I mean, where should I install it? in the BF2 directory or in the Mods\PR?
