Why Khamisiyah Soccer? Is that particular event important or special to you in some way? I don't even recall a battle there. Or do you just find that area interesting for a level?

Re: Ask the [DEV]s a (?) - Part 2
Short version: The mapping team was talking about how badly Kashan needed an update so I decided to take it on. But when I started thinking about it, I decided it would be better just to start over because the current Kashan would have needed so many changes to bring up to our current standards (imo). So my goal was to create its spiritual successor and needed a place that had bunkers, oil wells, villages, and open desert. After some research and using Google Earth I discovered the Al Khidhir area had a real-world US FOB, a decent size town, and a huge bunker complex called Khamisiyah. The oil wells were a bit farther SE so I used creative license to bring them closer, but the rest of it is pretty accurate. I also thought it would be cool to have the river and crop fields, to break up the monotony of sand, and the real world Al Khidir had that too.Rabbit wrote:Why Khamisiyah Soccer? Ahhh, thought it was because you had an interest in the first gulf war. Still a good reason though.

last word on it that I know off[R-DEV]Rhino wrote: If there are enough posts calling for it to come back I could look into putting up another poll but its pretty clear that people who didn't like it, REALLY didn't like it for w/e reason and the ones who do like it are overall not that enthusiastic for keeping it either from what I've seen.
But ye, I think the only way we could make everyone happy and this a really useful feature is if we find a way of implementing a parking brake, which so far we don't.

A Vehicle Warfare version of the map would be awesome, even in AAS the tank battles are the funniest in PR.[R-DEV]AFsoccer wrote:Short version: The mapping team was talking about how badly Kashan needed an update so I decided to take it on. because that's the editors default and no one noticed until the lightmaps are done, at that point is a PITA to fixHunterMed wrote:how come that so often the sun is in the NORTH of the map?

Giving optics to HMGs etc isn't a very simple process but you may see them in the future if your lucky.camo_jnr_jnr wrote:Also what about optics for the gun itself on some vehicles such as the wmik?

Is there any particular reason that when a jet is destroyed that the "wrecked" model only stays around for a few seconds before it also explodes? Most of the time it's still in the air when it explodes and hasn't even hit the ground yet.

Why can't you remove the hud using the renderer.drawhud command again? I can't seem to find the reason why ?
