i like this change:

Servers can run localized versions of the server messages for kit request, rally points, commander assets, etc. (Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish and Swedish).

'[R-CON wrote:AfterDune;488867']Of course, 'cause it will create all kinds of files and directories. But if you downloaded the patch, then it's only like... 300 megs? Anyways, it's not the full install.
So everyone has to download the full client for the patch to work? So two downloads for a single patch?
:-x

The patch is for if you have 0.6 ALREADY INSTALLED. If you have 0.6 installed, you just need the patch.

If you don't have 0.6 installed, you need the full client.

I got 0.6 installed.
I am still downloading the BF2 1.41 patch, gonna re-install it then try it.
If this doesn't work then I will get the Client Full download.

I delete "My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache" also when I install. The previous cache sometimes causes a crash for me. I also had to manualy update Punkbuster. It works really well now, the game feels very polished and solid.
Also alot of servers havn't updated yet which is number one reason for CTD.

So you're saying if I delete this folder too it will work? So I would delete the folder called 'Battlefield 2' in My Documents? Or just the Cache folder or what?

(Oh and installed BF2 1.41, restarted comp then re-installed PR patch and it still isn't working).

Hell, it's about time :D . Downloaded the patch this morning, it was fast too. Good work on the skins Spush and Shiftys1023 and the devs.

Take it easy, take a deep breath and read Kitoros last sentence:
..."Also alot of servers havn't updated yet which is number one reason for CTD"...

I had the same problem, try connect to servers that has been updated from v0.609 to v0.611. Be carefull BF2 server browser filter don't recognize "same version" for MODs.

Great job on the patch.

Just a few questions though:

I tried using the parachute to check the differences and it seems it comes down a lot faster then it should and then it did on the other version. I agree with damage on the landings but from what i read you have to be 30 seconds on the air not to loose health, if you're less then you will hurt yourself on the landing and if you take 10 seconds to land then you die. The problem is that i can never be more then 10 seconds on the air with this new parachute speed... i jumped out from a black hawk at 900 alt and still died!

so what's the deal with this? how do you use the parachute now?

It seems to be certain death so far...

and 900 alt on kashan desert is like as much as you should go with a chopper cause you already notice a lot of bugs on the sky when coming down...

Is this suppose to be so that only plane pilots survive? and even if it is, at what alt do they usually fly anyway?

New chopper seems kinda weird as well... you don't hear the engines when starting them or flying and it feels a bit too smooth when flying it.

One other thing, when is the little red line under the hud gonna be removed? doesn't seem like it would take much time but maybe i'm wrong...

good job anyway :)

The patch updates from the previous version(0.609 I believe) while the full install is used if you do not allready have the mod installed.

Onil: its from the moment you pull the parachute. If your above 100 meters when you pull the parachute you will take no damage...

its to prevent the gheyness of pulling a parachute at the very last second and being perfectly fine.

you dont hear the chopper because of the new sound update. Anything with a closed cockpit or interior with noise cancelling helmet on, you wont hear the engine/rotar sounds as much, and high pitch stuff (like footsteps) you wont be able to hear, but you will be able to hear loud explosions as bassy rumbles

Fuzzhead i pulled the parachute right after bailing out... at 900 alt so something aint working. I tested this on local server not on a public server but that shouldn't change anything. I know how it works... it counts the seconds from when you pull the parachute until you hit the ground... but i went down a lot faster then on last version. Did you also changed the speed of the parachute when dropping down?

Is it possible that you actually didnt pull the parachute? Ive tried it and it feels the same. Were you maneuvering while you were falling down?

Also I love the new coughing sounds.

ps. Should we post bugs in the standard "PR bugs" section or some special section for the new version?

The parachute speed should be the same, nothing was changed.

Speaking of parachutes, would it be possible to let the parachutist not be able to use his weapon/equipment? Though they may not be able to defend themselves from the ground below, but I don't think soldiers in real life can use their weapons while dropping down. This probably has been suggested before but I'm just asking.
