Just looking towards the direction works, no line of sight needed, so you can do this behind cover.

That means you could be behind a wall, use your attack marker already there, and range it yourself for your squad? Does the attack marker already have to be there, or is there another way to place that now without exposing yourself?

In the video it seemed the attack/observe markers where just to make accurate radio's. You dont have to use them. Just guess the distance and stay behind cover.

It's not BluFor and OpFor, that's just Team 1 and Team 2.

BluFor and OpFor shouldn't be used, it'd mean taking sides, saying that the US/Brits/NATO are the Friendly Side, when the MEC/PLA are the Opposing side - when really Britain and American have invaded the Middle East and China :P

Love how the CAS support requests have specific ammo types and especially putting a marker on the map. Now we can finally know where those people are lasing that arnt in a squad. Its annoying when people just randomly lase without a grid, now we dont need one.

You can always do it by right clicking on your map instead of looking straight at the enemy. Most of the time its easy enough to guess where you are looking on the map (imo).
Or you can just try to guess the distance like cyberzomby said.

Correct, it's just more precise to use the marker as reference for distance and rotation. You don't need to do it, it's just recommended.

Also, like I did in the vid, you could open your map and place the observe command in it if you know where the contact is, and rotate and mark it on the comm rose, all behind cover.

very nice, will the mele have different attributes to the knife and bayonet ? kinda like:

At the moment:
knife - quicker draw time, small attack distance
Bayonet - long draw time , large attack distance
?mele - shortest draw time , smallest attack distance?

This is sexy awesome. You could hold off releasing 0.9 until we're all dead, as long as you keep putting stuff like this up.

I've been more deeply watching the film now, I really like these features, they should make teamwork much easier to acomplish.

My worries are:
1. Commanders

2. SL workload, I think SL's need a secretary or an NCO to look after the ground level combat, will any other classes like sniper have the spotting feature of just SL's?

YES. YES YES YES... some brilliant features there guys, great work!

EDIT: No field dressing on the weapons scroll...? I retract one 'YES'.

No field dressing. Really? Or is the IDF menu not finalised or something?

This is really really great and well done. I was a bit worried that commanders might not be as useful anymore, but actually probably makes it more tempting, because you have one less thing to take care of. Also if there is no commander, this is really good.

However, i continue to hope that you can get around the 1marker/min for commander by giving this same HUD to the UAV. That might make the insurgent armies underpowered tho...
Still, great. Can't wait for this one!

do the amrkers disappear after a short time like 5 mins?

Field Dressing was moved to #9 slot, the reason it doesn't show up in the list, but it's there.

Markers stay for 5 min, also limited to 3 per player.

SL doesn't need to switch to the Radio to send the normal squad commands (attack, defend, move, etc), that's always there in the T comm rose:

Only the spotted markers and team requests that you would do usually in somewhat safety are required to have the Radio equiped.

Field dressings are common, almost everyone gets them, so they got moved to slot 9 which doesn't show up on the weapon selection as it doesn't support all 9 slots, meanwhile more important stuff like incendiary grenades got moved and do show up as not everyone gets one.

edit: ninja'd.

I love the 'Jeep' icon, aswell as the 'Thank you' and 'Sorry' ones. :D

Good work finding a new solution for what 1.5 patch did, I'm impressed.
We're getting real close to the 0.9!
