Ummmm no.... not gonna happen man. Pitting Blufor against Blufor like USA vs GB is never gonna happen.Excavus wrote:It's beautiful. This just gave me an idea. A USA vs GB map with the only transport are CROWS HMMVWs for USA and Panther CLVs for GB. That would be some great fun.

No. I can have my opinion if I want. Jormdarreh Range is bland and boring, and there will be nothing that can change that. Get off my back.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:Where your comments on Jormdarreh Range just a joke too?

Panther - British Army Websitebloodcry223 wrote:Is this baby the britsh equivalent of the US CROW-HUMVEE?
I guess its a bit more of a command vehicle than standard combat vehicle.Weighing 7 tonnes, Panther is air transportable and can be underslung beneath a Chinook helicopter.
Panther is armed with a 7.62 mm L7 general purpose machine gun equipped Remote Weapon Station, which can be upgraded to a 12.7 mm/cal weapon if required, and an appropriate day/night sighting system.
The armoured citadel provides crew protection from small-arms fire and Level 3 blast mines.
Panther will be in widespread use with various Commanders, Sergeant Majors, and Liaison Officers for Armoured, Armoured Recce and Armoured Infantry Units. Panther will also be used as the Commander's vehicle for Engineer Troops, Anti-Tank, Mortar and supporting fire platoons.
It is also used to rebroadcast on Battlegroup nets and by Regimental Signal Officers.

Correction.bloodcry223 wrote:I was talking about gameplay, not RL. I find it pretty similar with the CROW Humvee. Correct me if Im wrong.
A Humvee or (hmmwv (High mobility muli-purpose wheeled vehicle)) are lightly armoured Weapon platforms also used for transport. A Humvee with a Common remotley operated weapons system (CROWS) is just a Humvee with a alternate weapon system on it other then the standard Ironsighted .50cal.
A panthar is Called a (CLV) Command and Liason Vehicle. A panthar is moderatley armoured with a CROW system.
The vehicles are used in very different roles but can be used for similar missions too. For example both can be used for Heavy Weapons Infantry Support Roles.

The real life facts don't really have any relevance here. If it has spots for 4 solders then its going to be used in the same manner the current CROWS Humvee is.xI DIaboLoS Ix wrote:Correction.

No team is going to go 'WAIT a sec, the commander should be using this, lets just take a land rover instead'

True dtacs but the bloke was talking about its role in R/L. Your right none the less I can see the panther just being used as a Heavy Weapons support like the CROW Humvee. In fact even if a commander did decide to take it, he'd be way to busy with other matters then to actually crew the vehicle effectively.dtacs wrote:The real life facts don't really have any relevance here. When talking about the role of vehicles in R/L is a completely different matter when talking about the role of the vehicle in PR. I find it very RARE to see people using vehicles in PR akin to that of which the vehicles are operated in r/l. But when they do its blissful. Remember, on Karbala the other day. You were Squad leading inf, while I was squad leading a Stryker squad? and how effective that turned out to be?

That piece of info stated it was being used by commanders not that it was designed for them.

in its capabilities I'm sure it is, I'm just pointing out the RL stuff cuz PR tends to try and reflect that kind of stuffbloodcry223 wrote:I was talking about gameplay, not RL. I find it pretty similar with the CROW Humvee. Correct me if Im wrong.
