Eh, no arty support makes swift a sad boy
Even a set up similar to FH2 would be nice as I really hate advancing on entrenched enemy positions in this game. Like on 7 Gates, once the Chinese get dug in on the river fort, it basically impossible to dig them out even with the Warriors. Heck, a few Chinese comms even raise something on the entrance ramp into the fort making access impossible from that direction, while H-AT and snipers pick off any credible threat. If not in .7, artillery needs to be re-instated on some maps in the future for indirect support fire.

I read that snipers will get trip flares. Are these things work the same way as vBF2 claymores only when "activated" they will glow brightly?
Only enemies can trigger it or will there be "friendly fire"?
This would be a great tool for ambushes when defending. Drop a few around a flag (maybe a 100-200m away from it) and leave a few support guys at the flag. If they see one flare going off then spray the area.
And this way snipers will do more useful things, not just sitting 600m away from everything and killing one guy with a full magazine.

dammit me too! once the GF is back I won't vbe able to play PR for a bit and it's gonna kill me. She comes back Sunday afternoon.
i no this idea has already been posted and everything but this would be a big leap for pr mean fastroping in a blackhawk is comen with urban eviroments and heck in the game joint task force when u get reenforcements they fast rope so y should bf2 be differ this would half to be a thing were its limited to blackhawks and maybe the merlin but they would only carry a few ropes

Really, dont ask why its taking soo long without making a map yourself. for the last month or so I have had to put muttrah on hold to get other stuff finished including Qinling which is now done, and out of the door, and also for your info I started qinling 8 months ago, but have also in that time have had to work on many other things, mainly other peoples maps like fixing basrah, finishing off kashan due to duckhunt going into the marines, auditing all the maps and also directing all the other mappers.DavidP wrote:What? Muttrah is probaly the most complicated city ever made for the BF2 engine. for a start, all BF2 urban maps that I have seen before that have been "made in blocks". Muttrah is anything but made in a block, when making something that is not made in blocks it becomes very, very complicated, even in real life let alone on a game engine. At this point muttrah is in the detail phase, alot of statics have yet to still be made, and alot of the map is still not there. Maps in genial take a very long time to make, espically with them getting bigger they take longer. Try making a full 1024x2 area detailed, let alone a 1024x4 map like qinling which is far, far more detailed than kashan which I have only just finished and has been my project along side muttrah for some time now aswell which I am sure I have mentioned all the other maps in PR, luckly now fuzz has taken over most of the audit work for me so I dont have to spend so much time on that area, otherwise I doubt qinling would be in v0.7
There is also the factor of devs burning out. We do not get paied to do this, we do this in our own free time and some times, this feels more like a job than a hobby espically when we have some one like you demanding to know why its taking so long. I and many other devs find them selfs having to take brakes every few weeks, fuzz not long ago went on a month of so brake from PR. I also have to stop working on some of my maps, you get into phases of wanting to work on them and not.
So please, before you have any idea what it is like to make a map dont demand to know why it is taking soo long, it is not just a few buildings slapped down on a map, and a carrier with some choppers flying in.

Rhino i was'nt crticizing i was just asking. I did'nt know it takes that long to make a map, I was just curious seeing as we kept hearing about it since .604 beta thats all. Also i did'nt know it was gonna be that complicated i thought it was just gonna be muttrah but bigger, I dont demand anything from you guys i have no right to seeing as you're doing it for free.

it is far more than a bigger muttrah 1, if it was a bigger muttrah 1 then i would have just gone off what I had before. This is a all new map mostly from scratch, only using little bits from the old muttrah to keep the same old feel. but it is a very diffrent layout the only real thing thats the same in the concept.

I went over the .7 wiki again,finding that the Challenger II in Basrah has a 20mihn. respawn and there's only 1!!!That's insane!All it takes is a suicide car to ram it and it's BASICALLY done for.OOPS,got to wait 20 more min.!And another thing is that,there are 3 Warriors on 7 gates,and 1 Skimitar.That's weird to me,Why not 2 Warriors and 2 Skimitars to make it even?But I don't really care about that,just the challenger thing.
