As Ploddit says, look at my avatar and sig. DM do not play clan matches because we much prefer the full scale side of PR, ie the way the game is designed to be played. To that end over the last few campaigns in the PRT many of the command staff of NATO have been from DM, including myself as CO during the last campaign. We also have four DM members who are currently admins for the PRT, including the lead admin.jermaindefoe wrote:ive never seen DM play matches tbh
Lol. I've been around this game for a long long time and trust me if a clan is worth playing with I have played with them.jermaindefoe wrote:Obviously you've not played with many people in clans then...
Ofc skirmish requires tactics, im not saying it doesn't, but it is a different type of tactics and there is far less depth. Tbh if all you see this game as is skirmish and small scale squad tactics then this really isn't the game for you. I have played a lot of skirmish games with several clans and have never found the teamwork possible to be anywhere close to that in a full scale game because the skirmish mode is so limiting in what you can do.jermaindefoe wrote:Again wrong. I see much more teamwork within my clan during a match than i see during a game of public. Also tactics are required in the skirmish as well as organisation. If people dont know what kits they're going to take it would end up in total chaos. Maybe before you judge skirmish you should actually play a few rounds properly.
Ofc experienced and trained players who know each other well will generate better teamwork than a random pub team, that is obvious and no-one is claiming otherwise. The point as you clearly miss is that the teamwork possible on a full server far exceeds that ever possible in a clan game and PR is designed with this in mind. PR will always be aimed primarily at large scale combined arms combat, hence the constant move towards bigger maps.fStar wrote:I imagine you have never played a skirmish match, or at least one with an organised clan, because you obviously have no idea what it's actually like. The level of teamplay by good clans in skirmish matches is far beyond that of a normal PR server. Every player is expected to know what to do at the start of a round, to be able to work alone and with their team in close quarters, and to communicate quickly and clearly. When the enemy isn't 400m away, you don't have time to spend 20 seconds calling out every sighting.
The PR beta team are not a clan and rarely all come together except when testing. I have only rarely played with many members of the testing team so that comparison is ridiculous.fStar wrote:I would like to see the PR beta team make an 8v8 lineup and go face to face with WNP, GDW, LP or any of these other "lone wolf" / "deathmatch" players. When you do, send me the demo.
Read what I said. I am not saying that every public player is better. There are brilliant clan players just as there are absolutely awful clan players and the same translates to public play. All I am saying is that I regard a communicative player with strong teamwork skills and a high KDR on public play to be far superior to any clan player, because the variety of skills are very different.fStar wrote:As for public players being more skilled than skirmish players, well, when I go onto a Muttrah server and see the choppers fly into the sea one by one, then I wonder.
Lol, you are basing that on what? The number of players has increased incrementally with every patch and this has not changed in 0.9TOME Malambri wrote:do you realize how many players you lost with this patch? A lot, and I am not talking about tactical gamer...

Every. single. time.
What are you talking about? It's my fault, as a logistics, or a voip infantry squad leader, to have not given the logi armor support?qaiex wrote:Thats your own fault for not giving the logistics truck light armour support, play the game wrong and you fail.
BLUFOR lose a ton of tickets with vehicles though and since the number of bombcars are still pretty high and the quality of pilots is always low, thats an easy 5-10 tickets right there plus the drivers/passangers. It makes up for the rest of the tickets loss. So its not as 1 sided on some maps as you say IMO. As for the reason for insurgency being boring is because of the removal of RPs. With no RPs and having to constantly defend FOBs (if they even have them), it makes assaults very short since once the BLUFOR die, they are permantly out of the area for a while.manligheten wrote:Yea, Korengal and Gaza etc is really easy for ins if they not suck. On the other hand the open maps is lopsided the other way. Every NATO soldier can die 12.5 half times, or around 2 per cache, assets not included. As long as NATO is winning and takes out caches they get too many tickets. Most of the times there is just one or two NATO-guys who goes ninja and takes out the cache by himself rather than full on assaults or some tank or APC that kills everyone in sight from distance. Win för NATO.
The ninja tactic is also the only way I noticed to win as NATO in tight maps. Bore the ins out so they leave the caches and then sneak in. Playing as insurgent was quite boring and slow in 0.87 but now it's way too slow and since ins got them self nerfed I can't really stand it, except on Gaza where it's quite fun to slaughter the IDF. That's sad because ins game mode was really fun.
The part I highlighted was elitist and it is 100% true. Just because it isn't your problem doesn't mean it shouldn't matter. "People are losing jobs and I'm still employed, so its not my problem if they do." Of course its your problem because it hurts the economy/community negatively and comes back to you. Now apply that same quote to PR terms.gazzthompson wrote:its not elitist that i choose to play on certain servers if i want to not experience problems with communicating with other players. I dont waste epipens as i simply ask the guy "want a revive?"

So what if the guy takes off before you have a chance to your armor squad up? He's not in my squad and I can't physically control him, so its my fault that he takes off?qaiex wrote:Thats your own fault for not giving the logistics truck light armour support, play the game wrong and you fail.
It would be, this hole debate is kinda mute as i highly doubt devs will change it back. so ya.. deal with it.00SoldierofFortune00 wrote: If you guys didn't like the RPs before and we had this discussion before .9, I should have simply said "well, deal with it" and it would have been a compelling argument according to some of you in this thread.
i find i get more supplies (which i request alot) from choppers anyways. on maps that allow it of course.TOME Malambri wrote:I think if building FOBs is now all that matters for infantry in PR than we should get like 16 logi trucks, not just one.![]()
You mean after they stop teamkilling each other they are actually going to shoot the enemy? CBpr are imo a prime example of clans dont mean your the best, had to ban an entire squad of them for mass team killing. If the loss of permament rally points have driven some of the tardy clans away from main game PR then its the best change in the game of all time.jermaindefoe wrote:ok then lets have a match i've got you a challenge thread setup on our website. As every major change:jermaindefoe wrote:why wouldnt they change it back? It makes sense to this new rally point change is useless. At worst they should at least implement hardcore and softcore modes.
Ummm, don't mean to be picky, but he said he'd be up to fight whenever your ready, so etiquette says you go to his forums to set up the time, date, numbers ect. ect. ect.jermaindefoe wrote:ok then lets have a match i've got you a challenge thread setup on our website. Take the DM v CBpr out of this thread right now. Take it to PMs.jermaindefoe wrote:oh what as opposed to ur a clan a bunch of sad old men who think this is real war and go round calling eachother sir. We're a prime example of being able to have fun while still being good at the game. From what i can see most of the people in your clan like to cosy in the with the devs and agree with everything they do. Tbh ive never been on a DM server so i cant believe that's even right. Scared for a challenge then?
mate ive got nothing to prove if he wants to fight he's welcome to come over to our forums.Tirak wrote:Ummm, don't mean to be picky, but he said he'd be up to fight whenever your ready, so etiquette says you go to his forums to set up the time, date, numbers ect. ect. ect.
