Opportunities engine ArmA2 truly endless. Scripts that are able to create for this game, even people do not have programming skills simply wonderful. BIS are not as greedy as EA and always help people who make mods for their games. The problem what always has ArmA game - its performance. Very bad network code and the difficulties in working with RAM is spoiling the game. For a comfortable gameplay will require a very, very powerful computer. Although, if the developers will not use the standard large islands, and will transfer from the PR: BF2 concept of 1:1, 2:2, 4:4 mapping, it can be quite normal to play and the owners of medium-sized computers.

Just as I bought ARMA II to try out and thought that the game could do with a good mod for British forces with more toys, this gets announced!

unfortunately bayonets and knifes aren't much use in ARMA, its unlikely you would ever get into a situation where you could use one as the engagement ranges are over quite a distance. I guess it would be a bit clunky too.
