Well turn back a few pages and people have already commented on this.. but the reason is is that silencers are not mainstream or used commonly in regular General Infantry in most conventional forces. Thus the DEVs haven't made them and therefore why they are not included in this.

Hi guys!

Was just reading through here and started to research for the truth of nowdays special operation groups and found out that conventional forces can and do operate with sogs together!
Just as an example, lets take the deltas, even if i dont know if they are still active, they worked together with conventional troops in various keyoperations during operation iraqi freedom and lots of other conflicts before.

Sorry for rolling this up again, i am good if pr stays as it is because its for sure the best tactical realism mod (you could almost say game) out there, however pr already had a special forces class before and it was not wrong incase of reality!

Please dont bash me if im talking shit, this was just a mindfart
Just wanted to add my opinion about sogs

You are absolutely right in 1 point, PR did have a SF class, but let me point out where you got it wrong:

It was, in fact, that's one of the 2 reasons why it got removed (unrealistic and not working gameplay wise)
Special Forces do operate with conventional armies yes, they even play a very large role in unconventional conflicts like Afghanistan, but bear in mind that PR focuses largely on conventional warfare between 2 armies. Yes there is the insurgency mode, but large scale anti-insurgency operations are mainly carried out by regular forces with the help of SOFs (but even then, SOFs usually have their own objectives, like capturing HVTs etc.) so would the return of SFs be realistic? No, with some exceptions, but more important, SFs don't fit the gameplay PR is aiming at.

Stogs415 wrote:how come? Yes i do know that there is no recon teams or anything like that in PR, but from all the matches i have played there is always a squad that acts like there SF or something. ex: scout sniper squads or recon squads. i think it would be VERY cool if the spotter for a scout sniper team could have the ability to have a suppressed weapon. And they are not just "naming the squad that to sound cool", they actually act independently from every other squad and actually act like special forces would in that situation. ex: gather intel for commander, go behind enemy lines and report back intel, provide cover for infantry troops. Yes im new to PR but i believe a suppressed firearm would help the "wanna-be" SF teams a ton.
Not all of them are "wanna-bes" of S.F. and a lot of the time most of those recon squads don't do recon EVER.

I'm usually doing recon for the team to actually gather intel or search for FOB's on my own and with a small group most of the time.

(My bad for the offtopic reply)

Suppressed weapons will never be in PR unless a faction decides to suppress their main firearm.. which I highly doubt the will.

Also, great work on the M4 guys.

in Russia we got SVD for sniper, and Vintorez for marksman (suppressed) as soon as it got less accuracy and range... in pr marksmen should have less powerful weapon than snipers, right? anyway, SVD is already positioned as marksman' rifle, so, just saying... nothing needs to be changed :)

EDIT: we got third sniper rifle, compareable to US barrett... to fight enemy snipers on distances like 2kms.. in a sum, three sniper types... close range (vintorez, suppressed), 0.8km (SVD), and the sniper hunter - missing class in pr.
