Halloween Scenario and Zombie Event Hosted by Operational Detachment Sierra

Saturday 29th of October, 1900 GMT. You can start joining the server 30 minutes prior to the event.

Couldnt make it last year, or are you just waiting to participate again? It is that time of the year again! Are you ready for an evening of awesome scenarios with epic storylines and to top it all off a shitload of zombies to kill? 2 scenarios leading up to 4 zombie maps. It doesnt get much better than this!

We will be using 1 Mumble channel, and possibly include SL channels for both teams.

The evening will start off with a "seeding round" on Asad Khal. During this 30 minutes, players will be able to have some fun just shooting around and get ready for an awesome night. Once the clock hits 1855 PRT, we will restart the server and load up the event maplist. We ask everyone to keep the spam down on Mumble during this time.

Scenarios

Scenario 1 - Kidnap Dr. Dickenstein
Map: Ramiel INF layer
Factions: US Army = Escort, INS = Kidnappers
Both teams will have a commander, who has already been selected. Dr. Dickenstein will be played by the one and only, Jedimushroom.

Dr. Dickenstein is in town to deliver a lecture about his newly patented augmented penis technology. The US team is tasked with delivering the doctor SAFELY to a certain building in Ramiel, where the lecture will take place. The convoy will follow a set route through the town. Insurgents are supposed to ambush the convoy during this phase, secure the doctor and take him to a safehouse where he is to be held for 15 minutes(time starts when the doctor enters the building, INS CO will brief the team of the location), while the INS Commander tortures him and tries to get hands on the secret augmented penis technology. Should the insurgents fail to get the doctor during the initial phase, they will also have an opportunity to get him during the lecture, or after the lecture while he is being transported back to the US base.

Should the insurgents succeed in kidnapping the doctor at any time, the US team will have just over 15 minutes to get to the doctor and rescue him. Luckily for the Americans, the doctor is carrying a GPS tracker, which allows the US team to know the exact location of the doctor at all times. Also, as soon as the doctor is kidnapped, the US team can start using their Blackhawk. The doctor MUST BE EXTRACTED WITH THE BLACKHAWK from the building. Once extracted, he must be taken back to base.

Intel:
- The doctor will be riding shotgun in a logistics truck(driven by event staff)
- The doctor will follow orders his captors give him(Dont be (too) silly when giving orders to the doctor)
- The team which kills the doctor loses.
- Teams will receive a briefing from their commander at the start of the round

Scenario 2 - Negotiations
Map: Operation Archer
Both teams will have commanders, who will be selected prior to the event.
Depending on how the earlier scenario goes, this scenario can play out in two different ways. If Dr. Dickenstein was not secured by the US team last map, the Canadians will be tasked with negotiating with the Village Elder about locating him and securing his release from the evil Taliban. If the doctor was safely returned to base, the negotiations will be about locating stolen augmented penises, which the Taliban have fitted with nuclear warheads.

Canadians have to secure an entrance to the town, set up a meeting site and then cover the Canadian CO while he meets the village elder(Taliban CO). Taliban may not be engaged unless they have weapons visible, they can walk around with shovels for example. It is suggested that players on the Taliban faction walk around normally for some time, and then start causing trouble for the Canadians. The village elder may or may not ask other Taliban players to blow up certain vehicles( ;) ) Canadians must watch out for suspicious behavior.

Once the location of the target is known, Canadian forces will regroup at their main base, and assault from there. (Taliban will be given time to set up defences during this regroup phase). The Canadians must secure the target within 20 minutes of initiaing the assault phase, or else everything goes to hell!

Intel:
- The Commanders will brief their teams before the scenario starts

After this, the scenarios will end(two possible endings), and we will start the zombie bit.

Zombie Maps


Zombie maps will have objectives for both teams.
Survivors can only use pistols, shotguns and knives. Once there are 3 survivors left, all weapons may be used by the survivors. Grenades can be used in the style of Martyrdom. The person throwing the grenade has to die along with the grenade.

1st Zombie map
Map: Dragon Fly
Survivors: Brits
Zombies: Militia
Story: An unknown number of British soldiers have survived the events leading up to the zombie crisis. They are to walk through the town, and get to one of the underground sewer facilities, which will be specified before the round starts. Once they have all reached the sewer, they must defend it for 20 minutes. If succesfull, they will be magically extracted from the sewers, and win the round. If not succesfull, they will turn into blood hungry zombies, who want nothing more than BRAAAAAAAINS!

2nd Zombie map
Map: Gaza
Survivors: IDF
Zombies: Hamas
Story: IDF must walk through town and get to a location on the map which will be specified during the event. This location will contain a secret anti-zombie button, which will rain down hellfire on all the god damn Zombies! This button must be defended for 10 minutes. If successfull, the IDF team wins.

3rd Zombie map
Map: Silent Eagle
Survivors: Russians
Zombies: Germans
Story: Russians spawn at tunnels, 10 min startup time. Zombies chopper in, build some fobs. Russians have to get out of the tunnels and get to the Missile Silo. Here they have to defend the inner missile bunker for 10 minutes, if successful, Russians will launch a nuclear missile which eradicates all the zombies. If they fail to defend the bunker, or get to the bunker, game over.


4th) Alamo Stand off in the Asylum

Map: Fallujah
Survivors: Marines
Zombies: Ins
Story: The Marines have been told to secure the Fallujah Asylum, and defend it for 20 minutes while they attempt to find out what caused the zombie outbreak in Fallujah. The Marines may either stay on the building, or underground. If they are succesfull, the American warmachine will be able to destroy all existing zombies and thus save the whole world once and for all!

For all maps:
- Each round will have 5-10 minutes of setup time, during which the event staff will build firebases etc. required for the scenarios to run smoothly. During this time we ask participants to stay at their starting locations and await for further instructions.
- Survivors may use medic kits to revive, but they have to remember that medics only have a knife they can use to kill Zombies

Server info:
We will be using the OD-S Match Server for this event. IP, port and password will be posted in this thread before the event.

Mumble info:
We will use the Blackjack Mumble-channel for this event. It is located on the Official PR Mumble Server, detailed channel names etc. will be posted before the event in this thread.

I would suspect some increased risk of crashing the server, not really sure though.

We will try to make it so no one plays BLUFOR/Survivors twice in a row. Obviously the server has people leave and join mid event, so not everyone can play Survivor, but we will try.

what about an official infection game type? That can be run on public servers like INS or AAS, how awesome would that be..
