[AAR] AAVP_mobile Mortar system

During a game of Operation Barracuda, srstbob and K_higher and I came up with the idea to make a mobile mortar system out of the AAVP. The AAVP operators would park right off shore.
Since the AAVP has a max range of over 1000 it was easy to use. The AAVP has a ranger finder for up to 900. The operator just aimed and the spotter would do the rest. Since the Island of barracuda was mountainous we always over adjusted then brought the rounds in. The rounds take less than 5 secs to hit and can cover large amounts of areas with a faster rate of fire.
I had the hard job of sneaking up and ranging the shots. But once we got going the aavp was taking targets within 10 secs of calling it. and since it was pinpoint accuracy the rounds always landed where u wanted and can be used around friendlies. We swept inside trenches, took out FOBs and decimated most of the enemy team. By the end of the game. the AAVP had 21 kills 0 deaths. The CAS Huey had 13 kills, mortars had 8
After a while we had other team member ranging for us, it was fun and efficient
I will have videos up soon

Another use is psychological warfare.

Nice tactic. And this is how the AAVPs must be used on Falujah against insurgent team. I'll try it next weekend
P.S. waiting for video from Barracuda

If used that tactic a few times. It's pretty awesome when you do it right

Ironically it probably simulates how the AAVP is used in 'real life' .. To use superior optics to outrange stuff. However I may well be talking out of my arse. As usual.

Sorry for going off topic, but are there certain tactics in PR that actually effect your playstyle or decision making skills? Do you actually have an issue playing the game when people play in a certain manner?
The methods of play people claim as 'good for psychological warfare' have never affected the way I play at all. Its an alien concept to me.

Ever heard about rage quitters?

... It's not psychologically warfare as in real life but being constant hit by enemy mortars anywhere you go is not that fun. If you get killed like three times in a row by mortars chances are that you would be pretty frustrated about it. Frustrations leads to bad decisions like sprinting directly back to your squad after you respawned without thinking about surroundings and getting you killed... or even worse leading the enemies to your squad's position...
People start playing stupid if they keep dying by the same thing... or even loses the possibility to move around freely.

psy?cho?log?i?cal war?fare
Noun:
Actions intended to reduce an opponent's morale.
Heh, didn't know it was that simple.
Pissing the enemy off to f**k is pretty funny sometimes, and we all know what happens when an SL gets pissed off and says 'You know what? F**k it. CHAAAAARGE!'. Usually me.

Say, you have a squad in a T-building. They know what they are doing, the T-building is almost untakable.
An AAVP constantly starts raining grenades on the T-building. Contantly. Only stopping when it needs to reload.
The squad inside will be suppressed, their ears will be irritated because of the constant explosions, their situation awareness will be lowered, the coms will be disturbed.
Obviously no real psychological warfare, but the closest we will probably get.

^ This and btw:
The collaborateur seems to have a psychological effect on (some) BluFor soldiers aswell. Many of them just lose all concerns about safety and get very confused when I show up here, then there, only to have my PKM-gunner pop up on a 3rd spot to maw them all down!
And then they come here and complain about the freakin' rocks and how they are OP - lol

I used this tactic togheter with another SL on muttrah. The AAVP was aiming quite high and hit targets that i called out for. Adjustments and height was quite easy to communicate. It was fun to get shot at by an enemy AR from a building, then calling in CAS and AAVP mortar
