All you need to know, the first link is the best one. Also I would suggest you start making small maps for BF2.

Racist, sexist, homophobic, or religious insults are the quickest way to get you banned from the forum.

This is a good place to post WIP maps or map iadeas. Look around, you'll see the general format people use for posting maps![]()
No, I think it is perfectly fine to post a map about Vietnam/PN there.NuclearBanane wrote:*Cough* Thats a topic for PR:BF2 Vanilla ( Bad taste in my mouth after that ) *cough*
I want to know purely about Vietnam Maps. And I don't know if there is an Official map in the works

That was a direct quote reference to the film, and I don't see anything wrong with that.'[508th_PIR wrote: Grey;1758525']Really? Come on, man.
So, in your estimation, it's OK because someone said it in a movie?Redit wrote:That was a direct quote reference to the film, and I don't see anything wrong with that.
Debating this on a game forum is ridiculous, but I will say that although my comment was racially related, it is not a racist statement. This game is set in a certain time frame just as all wars are, and no body complains about the terms Kraut or Fritz, or Hun in WW2 games, because it is understood to be part of the context of the game and not meant seriously. I would hope that any Vietnamese person playing this game and browsing these forums would share my view that being offended by people messing around on a game forum is absurd.'[508th_PIR wrote: Grey;1758602']So, in your estimation, it's OK because someone said it in a movie?
Perish the thought that authenticity is endangered.Redit wrote:These terms were used, they are part of the historical and cultural context. Forbidding their use is cutting out a part of that history and understood authenticity.
You're comparing a word used hatefully to subjugate a race as slaves and inferior citizens for hundreds of years with a word used to deride your enemies in warfare and boost morale, as has happened in all wars, and in this case for a few decades in the mid 20th century.'[508th_PIR wrote: Grey;1758624']Perish the thought that authenticity is endangered.
Well, I guess I'll be slinging the old n-word around in game now, as it is authentic to the period.
Suggesting that there is a quantifiable difference shows how out of touch with reality you are.Redit wrote:You're comparing a word used hatefully to subjugate a race as slaves and inferior citizens for hundreds of years with a word used to deride your enemies in warfare and boost morale, as has happened in all wars, and in this case for a few decades in the mid 20th century.
Bringing in an extreme example just shows how off the mark you are.
I don't care what he said,'[508th_PIR wrote: Grey;1758688']Suggesting that there is a quantifiable difference shows how out of touch with reality you are.
A racial slur is a racial slur.
