AV8 is the US only version.

Sea Harrier was UK navy
GR1 to 9 was UK air force

The UK has sold all its Harriers to the US marines now :(

As to your question will the AV8 be joining US marines as an asset no idea, although could be fun on Muttrah and Barracuda....

The Harrier is going to be replaced by the F-35B in the near future by the Marines. I believe that the F35C is going to be used by UK for their carriers, correct me if I'm wrong.

BBC News - Government in ?100m U-turn over F35-B fighter planes
Defence Secretary Philip Hammond said the F35-C had hit development problems and it would be cheaper in the long term to order F35-B jump jets, as originally planned by Labour.

Although the Harrier GR9 is now retired from the UK, there is still one place other than the Falklands (where its a place holder for the Sea Harrier FRS1 and Harrier GR3) where we can possibly use it in PR ;)

AV-8B, although is due for retirement somewhere in the future, still has a good few years of service left so there are a few places it can be used in PR still ;)

I hate Harriers. Unfortunately I think the addition of them will completely change my outlook as playing on the USMC and UK forces as I won't have the ability to attempt to shoot one down.

All very juicy news for the air whores - I suspect a Sangin reference myself.

Out of sheer curiosity, why?

Also, did you work on the deck of a carrier?
